The book is nice and vague about this, and helpfully puts the different rules regarding it in different places.

Would I be correct in saying that the following is 100% of what someone (ie, myself) needs to know about shooting from a vehicle?

>Snapshots if it moves Cruising speed, fire to full effect if stationary or combat speed. Does not count as moving (for heavy weapons etc) if the vehicle moved 0-6"
>All passengers in an open topped vehicle can fire, and can fire from anywhere on the vehicle. If not open topped, can fire one gun per 'firing point' or whatever.
>Passengers can target a different target than the vehicle.
>Crew Shaken makes passengers fire snapshots. Crew Stunned means troops cannot fire at all.
>Ordinance causes crew shots to be snapshots

Anything I've missed here?

Cheers.

Shouldn't this be in YMDC?

Fairly certain if moved 1-6", unit aboard is counted as moved, so heavy and whatnot will be firing as snapshot as well.

Thats for rules interpretations. I'm not trying to interpret the rules, just to find out if there are any that I've missed. Also, that place is a hole.

I thought that as well, but there are heaps of things I *thought* were the case that turned out not to be true. I couldn't find the rule for this in the book and it could be very important for a build I'm considering.

If the vehicle moves at all, the passengers will count as moving - page 78, right column, second paragraph. Look for "Combat Speed", which normally means any movement above zero and up to 6" (as defined on pg 71).

I can't find a rule about firing ordnance affecting passengers. Anybody got a reference?

It... wow.

I can't find any reference and the few forums I was able to quickly find related to this have the same conclusion. Even a look through the FAQ doesn't bring anything to light concerning this, which is not at all surprising. I would state this is an oversight, if the weapon causes all the vehicles other weapons to be snapshot then it would do something to the troops inside, however by Rules As Written there seems to be no penalty.

I can't even ask the question that came into mind, are there transports out there with ordnance weapons, as the forum search pointed me to a few which clearly do exist and that they do have fire points. This clearly means situations will arise where you fire an ordnance weapon while shooting, without penalty, from the fire ports. Then again, those examples where orcs... maybe they simply don't believe the shock of such a huge weapon should affect them?

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

Battlewagons and Big Trakks can both take Ordinance and passengers at the same time.

There is no rules given for the vehicle's weapon affecting the passengers, so they follow the normal rules for shooting while being transported.

Ordnance, not Ordinance. One is a weapon type, the other a type of law
