I was looking at the codex and I was just wondering if anyone actually finds commandos useful. As far as I can tell they're just boyz with assault grenades who can infiltrate and have access to burnas for 4pts more per model. I mean I like the models, boss snikrot is cool but he's 85pts and the assault grenades are never useful now as furious charge no longer buffs initiative. Does anyone actually use them? If so how do you run them and what do you use them for?

Due to the nerfs to infiltrate and outflanking for assault units, Kommandos went from fun and useful is used properly to more or less free kill points for the enemy. You should probably pass them for more Lootas.

Yeah, I would agree with this to an extent. Switch them out, but you could also switch them out for stormboyz with Zagstrukk. You still get the behind the lines assault and Zag can do a lot more than snikrot.

yeah they got hit with the nerf bat,

if you want to play a "true" ork army though (ie choppy choppy not shooty)

they help, as its just another boyz squad, but it gets to start closer to the enemy for charging, snikrot is actually awesome when used against a turtle.

I maxe out the kommandos, storm boys/bikes, just because the ork codex is so damn lacking in speedy ways to get the boys into combat (truks suck)

they really need a buff to the whole damn ork codex TBH
