I am trying to decide what army to bring to an 800 point tournament in a couple weeks. The rules use the allies FOC (1 HQ, 2 troops, 1 FA, 1 Elite, 1 Heavy) and you are paired up randomly with a new teammate each round. I currently have Dark Eldar, Chaos Daemons, and Chaos Space Marines. There seems to be a lot of Grey Knights, Necrons, and CSM (Heldrakes) in my area. Here is what I would bring with each army.

Dark Eldar:
Baron Sathonyx

2x Venoms with Warriors w/ blaster

1x Venom with Trueborn w/ Splinter cannons

1x Ravager

Beastpack

Chaos Daemons:
Herald of Tzeentch (lvl 3 w/ grimoire)
Herald of Khorne on juggy

Horrors
Bloodletters or Daemonettes (big group)

big group of Khorne Hounds'

Chaos Space Marines:
Fearless HQ

large group of Cultists

Heldrake

Havoks or Obliterators

Since I have no idea who my partners will be, it is really important that my list is somewhat balanced. I really want to bring Dark Eldar, but I feel Heldrakes will just tear anything I bring apart. Daemons might be fun especially with Heldrakes bouncing off 2++/3++ grimoired dogs, but Grey Knights give them fits. I can always bring my own choice of CSM with obligatory Heldrake, but it is the bandwagon in my area.

What do you guys think?
