Who is the most overwhelming HQ in your codex(es)

For me that will probably be goods ol' MR. Bloody Handed God Sir Khaine

The most overwhelming HQ is by far Coteaz. All the powers and special rules he brings are awesome.

Tough one, but I say Bloodthirster. Not just his actual power but the psychological factor. Nothing drops an opponents face quite like it.

Overwhelming to my opponents? Definitely Aun`Va...because he actually does something now (I really want to see the look on my opponent's face when I set up the space pope).

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

My vote goes to coteaz. super cheap for all the stuff he does. there are 200+ pt models that do less.

The bloodthirster to me is very underwhelming. He is an impressive model, but by no means scary to Nob bikers.

Umm... Either Celestine, or Uriah for the buffs he can give a Battle Conclave.

And Celestine is actually fairly lackluster for me, I've come to realize. Mathhammer puts her at killing less than 2 Ork Boyz per round of combat on average. If I were up against MEQ more often, it'd be better, since she'd be killing just under 2 MEQ per round on average. She can barely handle a Nob on average, and the Nob's gonna splatter her if he gets to attack with a Power Klaw. Usually when I send her into a mob of Boyz, I constantly issue challenges at the Nob, which my opponent normally declines to protect the unit's leader. Once, she didn't, and Celestine got splortched in round one. But I guess she has a heavy flamer in her sword. Perhaps I should use that more and melee less.

Uriah's pretty nice with a Battle Conclave. Makes them even killier. But I play largely a foot list, and my mom has learned to avoid that unit since her Space Marine Chapter Master and accompanying Honor Guard had a bad run-in with it. And I stopped using it in favor of Celestine because I like her model better. My mom's also using a lot of Lootas now, so the Battle Conclave probably wouldn't last long anyways.

Orks - Ghaz

He's taken a hit in 6th, but he's still the burliest

Daemons - Biomancy GUO? I play Mono-nurgle. If i included the other gods then probably something Khorne.

DE - For me, Drahzar. I roll well with him, and he can be a murder-machine when you're rolling well...

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Am I the first vanilla marines player in? Wheeee!

Vulkan He'stan! You wind up only paying a handful of points over what a similarly equipped captain would cost, and the buff he gives your army is awesome!

Celestine and a squad of Seraphim with two double handflamer girls is nothing short of murder against any infantry they get to shoot. Use their Faith power (reroll failed to-wound rolls) and watch squads taking 50-60 wounds in one go.

No Farsight yet? For shame.

Seriously, for the right price, this HQ lets you deep strike 8 Crisis Suit models plus up to 14 drones wherever you damn well choose without scattering. Depending on how you design the team, it can then fire at different targets with melta, plasma, missiles, burst cannons, or any combination thereof. If you manage to get some markerlights in there, they can do it at BS5. Add in Shadowsun, and the entire unit has a 4+ cover save in open ground.

Expensive as all hell, but Farsight is freaking ridiculous.

Depends what army you play against.

A Librarian w/ Null Zone from Codex: Space Marines is a god when you are playing Daemons, Termie Armies, or anything that relies on an Invulnerable save.

But, on character on character combat within Codex: Marines? Either Marneus Calgar or Lysander. I think Calgar pulls out ahead just a bit, because his paired fists gets him an extra attack, and if he loses a round to Lysander, just run away, shoot him with the AP2 bolter, then charge again.

/shrug.

CSM player so Abaddon is my best pick, better if I'm fighting Loyalists but pretty damn overpowering against almost anyone. Decked out Daemon Prince or Typhus look like rivals for 2nd place IMO.

For my Sisters? Definitely Celestine for me. Jacobus is nice, but he's not a beat stick, and my Sisters need one to back up the Repentia and Dominions.

Chaos? I definitely put the points in on Ahriman, but I realise I'm strange for that. Still, my Ahriman eats C'tan Shards for breakfast, so...

Necrons, I have to go with Zahndrek. Imotekh's a one-trick-pony who never does anything for me, but Zahndrek lets you take three Overlord-level combatants instead of two, gives you total control over your own reserves, and can buff your units with crazy rules. Plus, he's nigh-unkillable with 2+/3++, T5, W3 and Everliving... before you even get to the fact he has an automatic challenge counter.
