Using gate on a big blob just seems like such an awesome idea doesn't it? It'd really cut down on the immobility of footslogging IG infantry.
Feel free to show me any inherent flaws with this, if you used this though, how would you equip the blob?

The inherent flaw is that it's a large squad that you're deepstriking. It's going to be much easier to mishap 21 or 51 dudes than a squad of 6 or 11.

Depending upon blob size could be a big footprint for scatter and mishaps. Biggest concern would be a bunch of squishy, crappy armor save guardsman clustered into a wet dream for anyone with a bunch of templates or pie plates.

And you're also likely teleporting them out of range of FRF, or of support of most other units in your army.
Also, what's the point? If you want to move special weapons somewhere at relative speed, that's what stormtroopers and mechvets are for.
