Subject: Coming back to Fantasy. Considering Tomb Kings

After being out away from Warhammer for over 10yrs,I'm finally back into 40k and considering growing a fantasy army as well.
When I played fantasy before, I played the following armies
Orks and Goblins
Lizardmen
Undead (before it turned into tomb kings and vampire counts)
And Chaos Dwarves.
Since I don't want to invest into recreating a chaos dwarf army from forge world, I'm considering Tomb Kings.
To bootstrap the army I'm thinking about grabbing a battalion box but am curious if people think its a good start or if I should start by purchasing other things. My only real exposure to the armies at this time are watching battle reports on YouTube.
So how decent is he tomb kings battalion box if a person was going to start the army anew?

Sure, its a great start.
You should assemble the Skeletons as Archers. Tomb Kings are one of the few armies where BS based shooting is fairly viable.
Add some more Chariots, some Necroknights, the obligatory Sphinxes, and a few characters and you've got a solid army.

The battalion is a smart choice if your going for a fairly basic heavy infantry army. You're gonna need a Lord or hero with it (Which is how all modern battalions go.)
Glad to hear another tomb king general is rising from the sands!
PS: make your first character purchase a heirophant cuz you need em. Like actually have to have.

The battalion is a great start, especially since in this new box you get 40 skellies rather than the previous 32. you should also build the horsemen as the archer cav as they are much better in game than their normal counter parts. (though i'm not sure if it will come with enough bow arms if you build all 40 skellies as archers.)

Fantasy: Tomb Kings, Dark Elves, Wood Elves, Lizardmen, Daemons
40k: Daemon Hunters (GK,MT allied), Tallarn Armored Battle Group, Night Lords.
Firestorm Armada/Firestorm Planetfall: Dindrenzi

If you make command for 2 units of 20 Skeletons you should have 6 bow arms leftover IIRC.
Although the GW website claims the Horsemen can be either archers or horsemen.
