You're well underway. Try some washes on your models, it really works wonders.

Took the words straight out of my mouth, washes are key to a novice painter's collection, it applies a lot of depth and shading to your miniatures, and just makes them look *so* much better, the only problem I've found with GW washes is that if you apply them too heavily in a single layer, it leaves a shiny finish, which is quite annoying, so apply them in thin-ish concentrations over a few different layers

You're off to a good start - and as already noted, washes are the key to victory!

Also, the "Showcase" forum is for finished models only, so I've moved your thread over to P&M.

hmm i use enamel paints... so sure if gw acrylic washes probably won't work (and gw paints cost the dam earth) otherwise i'll make some and see how that goes...

I remember the last time I used (or tried to use..) Airfix (I think) enamel paints on my Legion of the Damned.. They really did *not* turn out well :/ I would recommend GW or Vallejo paints, mainly because they last a while (as you can water them down ;D), and they work very well in conjunction with eachother

It makes for a decent start, but like mentioned before it could use some shading (washes are great for novices to achieve this). It also looks like your paint could do with a bit of thinning

unfortunately i've had a few problems with the enamels blotching ect (the blue coming out worst of all) but on a few of my more recent models i've managed to get a much better smoother application.... i'll def give the highlighting a bash and see how it turns out..
