Whislt it depends on the opponent and situation, the Great Unclean One is almost always going to be better value for points than the prince.

I'd take the GUO but consider removing some upgrades. With the prime Nurgle power and maybe upgrade to the flail, he is plenty tough and killy. Those extra points seem like they'd be better spent elsewhere.

Why take an Exalted gift on the GUO?

Personally I'd got with 2 greater Gifts & 1 lesser for the Plague Flail for 240. You can go to lvl 3 Psyker & make it 290.

Remember GUO are super SLOW! sure they won't die with the right gifts & Biomancy spell but you won't be moving much. Deep strike the GUO into you opponent lines (helps if you have Nurgle units with an icon to remove the scatter) & watch you units run a mile to avoid the GUO.

Nurgle Daemon prince will cost you more, be less survivable but faster due to wings but Slow & purposeful hurt the DP.

Exalted can be quite nice on the GUO if you take the Eternal Blade - the extra stats are nice, increased initiative and attacks boosts his killing potential.

Rolling Iron Arm on a GUO is hilarious, watch all basic infantry guns turn useless and hit hard enough to crack open land raiders. Rolling warp speed creates...an fluff breaking fast nurglite. Endurance when cast on it while it has Iron Arm makes it pointless to shoot at. After managing to somehow wound something with T10, push through a cover save that thanks to shrouded will be ridiculous, and then have to get through FNP, you will be treated to it simply getting it's wound back later while the great fat one calmly waltzes up to something of value and spreads Nugle's delight.

Neither is very good simply because of SnP. Meaning you cannot sweep in combat. The GUO is nice to have a nearly unkillable warlord but the Nurgle Princes are not very good at all. Shrouding just is not what it used to be.

What do you mean "nearly"?

I'm currently in love with the idea of a Great Unclean One wielding The Eternal Blade. At minimum its 220 points, probably 270 so you can grab Psyker Level 3 and stand a good chance of getting Iron Arm (for Eternal Warrior).

In the Nurgle themed list I've been making the plan is to Deep Strike him in on an Icon carried by Plague Drones. Jet Cavalry? You kidding me? Those things are going to be deep in enemy territory thanks to their Toughness, Wounds and movement capabilities. The Great Unclean One will end up right about somewhere the enemy really doesn't want, and is fat enough to survive shooting.

Cause really, that's the big trade off for me: The Great Unclean One is slow. The Daemon Prince can take wings and become a FMC. So that's what I'd be asking yourself: Which would be better for my list? Mobility or Durability?

From your list, I'm thinking mobility would be good, since none of your units are particularly quick once they are on the table. But I haven't played more than one game as Daemons (proxy/testing bleh) and not nearly enough against the new Daemons to know for sure which would be better for you.

Yeah he's tough until a unit of poison gaunts gets a hold of him. Or a Venom looks crossways.
