I'm not sure whether to use Rhinos or drop pods for my GH.

Thoughts?

Here are my suggestions

Take one priest on Divination, whack him with a LF pack and you have some nice flyer killing from turn one if your 'detta takes some time turning up.

I dont think you need to take a wolf guard with fist, and a grey hunter with fist, also if you put a fist on your wolf guard you will get slapped in every combat with a challenge as he will be hitting last and just get cut down by power swords etc.

Also to be honest your wolf guard dont actually accomplish a lot, try this

10 Grey Hunters, 2 plasmaguns, wolf standard, mark of the wulfen, drop pod

2 of those squads

and one of these

9 grey hunters, plasmagun, plasma pistol, wolf standard, mark of the wulfen, drop pod

free 2nd weapons are too good to pass up, and you dont really need the combi melta's when you have 10 missile launchers and a detta'

As for the guard -

Drop the veterans chimera, and put them in the detta

consider what the LR is actually doing for you, with the points you save from the chimera being dropped you could buy a Land Raider for the Swolfs, more likely to hit with twin linked and tougher with AV14 all around.

I would also try to get an aegis line with a quad gun in there personally for the long fangs and rune priest to man

I'm going to keep the Russ because the exterminator in that loadout is statistically the best Russ and I feel it would do more damage than a Land Raider, two TL Lascannons aren't going to do as much damage over the course of the game compared to 4 TL autocannon shots, 1 Lascannon shot and two MM shots. Plus the Russ is cheaper.
I don't own an ADL or else it would have been in the original list but I will squeeze one in if I ever pick up one.
I had forgotten how useless power fists are on characters so they are gone and I've changed the GHs like you recommended and I had points to spare so I added in a fourth one.

Since you have 5 points to spare, why not take meltabombs on one of your HQ's, or some other 5 point upgrade?

The list looks good, but it is criminal to not spend the points.

For a Drop Pod Rune Priest I'd highly recommend JOTWW and MH. Murderous Hurricane can really save your behind against several armies, especially if you drop aggressively. Also, you want an odd number of Drop Pods so your Turn 1 hits that much harder. Finding 35 points to have a Drop Pod on one of your Long Fang packs (to come down empty as you'll still deploy the Long Fangs) gives you 30 Grey Hunters on Turn 1 instead of 20.

The LR Exterminator is probably not the best option to take form the allied IG force. I realize you are probably doing it because you had a SW one in 3rd edition, but it doesn't give you anything you need. Your Grey Hunters are pretty solid at anti-infantry, and you have 10 Missile Launchers for anti-horde if you really need it. Besides, a Manticore would be like 160 points instead and do a far better job (D3 S10 AP3 Large Blast hits per turn? Hell yea!).

I'm personally not a fan of Melta-Vets for IG allies, especially with Space Marines as your primary force. They don't do anything your Drop Pods don't already do, aside from fill the minimum requirements of the Allied FOC. But then that's just how I've built my list, taking advantage of the IG Platoon. it does turn into a point piggy though so I guess leave the Vets in.

Shame about the Lord Commissar though. For the same points you could take a CCS with 2 Meltaguns. If you take a pair of Vendettas (I highly recommend dumping 280 points onto a squadron of 2 by the way) they could ride in the other one, and then you can issue Bring It Down! on both the CCS and Veteran Squad to twin-link those Meltaguns on the targets you want to use them on.

If you need more points I'd consider dropping the Power Weapon from any Grey Hunter packs before any other changes.

Finally, what's the wargear layout of the Rune Priests (since they have to be different)?

This is actually a requirement because it is illegal to take two rune priests with identical wargear. You must give one of them something.

I've edited my second post with the new list. I forgot you had to give each HQ different wargear so I gave one of the Priests meltabombs. I've stuck in a manticore and I can afford an empty Pod. I've also replaced the Commissar with a Primaris because he's more useful for the points and I can't squeeze in 2nd Vendetta for a CCS. The new list should be legal and better.
