Hi everyone I was looking for badger ghost tints to try out and having trouble finding them in my area. I came across wicked detail paints and wondering if they are similar in their results. Anyone have experience with both?

I'm going to say that Createx Wicked Detail paints are 'Water Borne' which doesnt equal water based. They contain solvents that the hobby brands will not contain. Reason being is that theyre designed for freehand airbrushing at high detail levels (spray pattern comparible to size of nozzle aperture) Which isnt really what we use airbrushes for on figures as our scale is a bit small and favors brushes for detail work.
I've never bought any wicked detail paints though... as I didnt want to be spraying waterborne paints within my home... they should have a bit of an odour.

Not interested in ordering Minitaire online? I ordered my full set from Web Airbrushes with the then 50% discount, though it looks like a 25% discount code atm. Looks like you can order the candies as a separate set.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea that there are water based vs water borne acrylics. In looking it up quickly on the web there doesn't seem to be hard and fast definitions between the two? Some people refer to all of them as water borne because none of them fully dissolve in water? Automatically Appended Next Post: Yonan wrote:Not interested in ordering Minitaire online? Thanks for the link! I also got confused and wasn't looking for Minitaire but just under badger. I will check them out. I am not sure what the shipping would be to Canada but I will check Web Airbrushes out.

I use it on a fairly regular basis. The only comparable part of the Wicked Detail set are the "Transparents," but I can't honestly compare them because I've never used Badger's Ghost Tints (they're on my wish list!)
I would ASSUME that if you put the transparent coat on light enough (or thinned it like hell), it would act approximately the same.
I can still highly suggest the entire line though, it's got excellent coverage for cheaper than most hobby specific acrylics (and you get SO MUCH MORE PAINT).
