Do you guys think that a sons of horus chaos army would be feasible in the 40k universe? Like before they paint their armour black and before horus is killed but they are infected with chaos? Or does that idea not work?
Thanks

I think this would go better under Proposed rules (or maybe Background/General Discussion).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Ask a Mod. You can easily contact one with the little caution sign in the top right.

I can imagine that (after the Heresy) some could stick with the Sons of Horus colours/scheme/organisation, rather than joining the Black Legion.

Yeah I figured there's got to be a sort if crossover point where they are chaos-y and not yet black legion but I'm not up on my fluff so I don't know for sure

The Sons of Horus only became the Black Legion after they had retreated to the Eye and Abaddon took charge after several years of infighting with the other legions.
So you have from the latter part of the Heresy, when they became overtly chaotic until the end of the scouring and some years after that when they became the Black Legion.
So you could simply say your army is set in M.30.
Or perhaps your army is an offshoot that didn't accept Abaddon's leadership and kept their original heraldry.

Oh yeah I'd not thought about then just not taking Abaddon as the new leader

That's what I imagine as the most likely solution to your query. It'd be reasonable to assume not everyone would join Abaddon and therefore some may keep their original heraldry etc.
