Steadfast Grey Hunter

Hi folks, not sure if this is the correct place.

I've been doing space wolves for about a year now, I don't play any 40k but just like the painting side of it.
My problem is, what are grey hunter supposed to be modelled with, a close combat weapon, a bolter or both?

So far I only put them with a bolter, I thought blood claws had both close combat and bolt pistol.
What the difference between the grey hunters and blood claws, beside a different coloured shoulder pad.

Sorry if this a stupid question but I don't want to model any more until I know what goes on what model.

Thanks in advance people.

When you can't see the drunk guy at a party, you should look for the nearest mirror.

If you check the Codex entry the Grey Hunters come with Bolter, CCW AND bolt pistol.

So you can model them however you want.

Blood Claws have Bolt Pistol and CCW but no Bolter.

Quite frankly as is I do not see the need for Blood Claws...ever.

Erik is completely correct, they have Bolter, Bolt Pistol and Chainsword/Combat Knife. If they are upgraded to a Meltagun/Plasmagun/Flamer, they still retain the Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon.

My work as a soldier is done and now passes to you for I have great tasks to perform in my earthly sanctum. I name you Warmaster and from this day forth all of my armies and generals shall take orders from you as if the words came from mine own mouth. But words of caution I have for you for your brother Primarchs are strong of will, of thought and of action.

Exactly as the other have mentioned, grey huners can be kitted out to have bolter, CCW, pistol

It's similar to Death Guard (which I collect).
I have given some a bolter, some a CCW & pistol & the rest bolters & CCWs to show the mix.
I don't think anyone will be upset with this & say I have to have all 3 on every model. If someone does I just won't play them.
As long as the model resembles what they can have & have the right special weapon or other upgrade shown then you should be fine.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
