so my local club is doing a 1000pts knockout tournament and i really like the idea of having a themed army for the iron warriors. because they are awesome.
Anyway. here is what i have come up with:

HQ - terminator lord, chainfist.

TROOPS - 10x marines, 2x meltas, champ p-fist + p-pistol
- 10x marines, 2x meltas, champ p-fist + p-pistol
- 10x marines, 2x meltas, champ p-sword + p-pistol
- 3x rhino transports

FAST ATTACK - Heldrake, Baleflamer

HEAVY SUPPORT - 3x vindicators, siege shields.

i understand i have disadvantaged myself with no bodyguard for my HQ but hopefully the 3 demolisher cannons should keep them occupied whilst they remain in cover as the rhinos press a forward offensive. but my question is this: any other thoughts or suggestions from the good people of DakkaDakka?javascript:emoticon('');

He feels a bit lonely.

Plasmapistol and SCCW seems a bit waste of points. Give one squad flamers and CCW. The other go with combibolters instead.

Otherwise just pray that your vindicators reach their frontlines. I would skip one of them and go for terminators for the lord.

I would say that's more of a army theme: spam what you thinks best.

It might not be, but be prepared for quite a few people to see it that way. Even something as simple as swapping one of the vindis for a pread and switching up the equipment on the tac squads a bit would make this army much more appealing to play against, and no less effective.

Personally I would probably remove a vindi and toss in some oblits, they seem the most iron warrior to me and could easily be used to get any back line vehicles that your two vindis might have a hard time getting too.

That's just an old timers point of view: winning tournaments is nice, but playing fun/competitive games is a much better way to gain friends/respect. And from my experience as soon as someone sees 3+ of the exact same unit, something in the fun-region of the brain switches off...

best way to equip the sarge is power weapon, meltabomb. saves a bunch of points, also you could drop a vindi for somthing for your lord, just say a small squad of terminators just to keep him alive, also if the lord is doing nothing, then dont give him anything at all make him dirt cheap and hide behind a rock or something
