Looks like they could work, though I'd like to see a comparison with an actual IG scale model but life is imperfect.

For most tournaments, particularly the ones run by GW, its a non-starter though. GW run tournaments tend to have rules about what percentage of a model(s) has to be Citadel miniatures in order to be used. If you don't care about that then you are probably fine.

The Warzone Plastic Bauhaus and Imperials, scale perfectly with IG and are a fine substitute.

They have the same heroic proportions and even a similar grimdark look. Many folks have used them for IG in the past.

You can switch out the weapons or use as-is. As for tournaments, that's completely up to the organizer. At a fair number of independent US tournaments they'd be fine, but YMMV in the UK.

Keep in mind However, the poses are limited, the plastic is harder then GW, and won't take plastic cement. The elbows are a pain and poorly designed. Overall a pain to assemble. I bought 40 years ago to use as stormtroopers. Most sat in a box. I recently pulled them out and built some more. Only to remember why I had boxed them.

I wouldn't recommend them in the numbers guard armies require.

There is a word for a wargamer with an empty paint bench.

Dead.

A buddy of mine had a good experience with them. He used them stock, except for a head swap. He painted up 10 or so for use in Tomorrow's War.

As folks have mentioned, you do have to use superglue. For modfying, the plastic is harder than most, so you may find a hobby saw to be as useful as a knife.

Yeah, other than having largely the same pose for your whole army, they are pretty easy to use as guard.

I used some for Stormtroopers at one time.
