When using a markerlight token to fire a seeker missile does the unit using the token have to have a seeker missile or can it be used by a unit that does have it?

Any unit can fire the seeker missile, but the unit firing the seeker missile must do it as a part of its shooting phase and fire the rest of its weapons at the same target (if it fires anything else).

And it has to have a Seeker Missile to fire. This is a change from the old codex, where anyone could request a Missile strike. Now you simply expend marker light tokens to buff a missile you have. The only models that can expend tokens to fire seeker missiles are models that have unfired seeker missiles.

It should be pointed out that another change is that Marker Lights aren't required to fire Seeker Missiles any more either. You can fire Seeker Missiles as regular weapons, although obviously not as effectively as with Marker tokens.
But it does mean that something like a stationary Skyray can use it's Marker Lights to hit a flier and then volley all 6 Missiles, using the hits for either a slight BS boost or to remove cover. Potentially good if you need to absolutely kill that flier right now.

It might be an oversight and get an FAQ, but the markerlight restriction that says it must fire at the same target specifies vehicles.
The only non vehicle that can take a seeker missile is broadsides I believe.
