Hi Guys

I have been taking more and more interest in CSM of late and really have loved the Word Bearers for quite some time now, I have tried to make the list as balanced as possible while maintaining my idea of how a Word Bearer force should appear on the table

Total Roster Cost – 1848 Points

Word Bearers Warband – 930 Points

HQ: Dark Apostle – 135
Power Maul, Burning Brand

Troop: 10 Chaos Cultists – 63 pts
8x Autogun, Heavy Stubber

Troop: 10 Chaos Cultists – 57 pts
Flamer, Shotgun

Troop: 10 Chaos Space Marines – 220 pts
2x Plasmagun, Aspiring Champion Lightning Claw
Chaos Rhino

Fast Attack: 3 Chaos Bikers – 115 pts
2x Meltagun, Aspiring Champion Power Fist

Fast Attack: Helldrake – 170 pts

Fast Attack: Helldrake – 170 pts

Allied Daemons – 918 Points

HQ: Keeper of Secrets – 260 pts
2x Greater Rewards, Psyker Level 3

Elites: 6 Flamers of Tzeentch – 138 pts

Troop: 15 Bloodletters of Khorne – 180 pts
Instrument of Chaos, Banner of Blood

Troop: 15 Plaguebearers of Nurgle – 165 pts
Instrument of Chaos, Plague Banner

Fast Attack: 7 Screamers of Tzeentch – 175 pts

Thoughts, Idea's and Criticisms very much welcome (the Cultists I will be using my Necromunda Redemptionist and Cawdor Gangs so have a little wiggle room with weapons, everything else is as yet not purchased)

IMO the only upgrade you should think about taking on cultists is a flamer. Try and take large groups of them too. They will run away on you after taking a couple of casualties.

I think the bikers will eat it fairly quickly too.

My advice: Keep the list mainly as it is. Even though the dark apostle aint great you wanna keep it fluffy so i understand that keep him in.

Consolidate the cultists into a larger group of 20. drop the autoguns. Take 2 Flamers instead and put the Apostle in that unit so theyre fearless.

Drop the bikers they wont get a chance to do much. With the points saved overall take a unit of raptors with meltaguns instead. Deepstrike them behind a target and watch it burn.

DARK ANGELS woo woot
the way to win is not to make a grand masterplan, its by making sure your opponents grand masterplan fails

What's a Grimore of True Names, because unless I have missed a whole two pages in the chaos codex for like 5 months of reading it, I'm pretty sure it's not in there. That said, it could be daemons. Would that affect the drake though? If so is that because it's a daemon? And if thats the case, is anyone selling a Chaos Daemons codex on the cheap?

Ah, I quite like the route you took with the allied Daemons. It's quite diffrent to my 1850 Word Bearers. I run both a Lord and the Apostle.

I've sold so many armies. :(

I doubt the pub'll sell it but most supermarkets will carry it. The grimoire idea is interesting I may play around with that
