Hey all

So, I've just dug out this old metal Eldar Farseer, he's in reasonable condition, except his singing spear is missing... I've clearly used it for something else as a youngster...
I'm wondering if you good folks of dakka have any suggestion s as to where I might get another weapon... spear would fit the pose I guess, but anything is possible at this stage
3rd party or scratch building suggestions are also acceptable.
Its this guy; this isn't mine, just the first example of the model in question that google chruned out, the hand is there, at a funny position, but I can change that, its just the weapon that has been cut out.



... Seem to have located the original spear top half on one of the two warlocks that was with him but between the 3 of them i'm still short a spear (or something)

I've got the high elves from Island of Blood that I never did anything with, Maybe one of those will have a spear for me, or like you said a bits seller.
Any ideas about how to make it that little bit sci-fi? Looking over the other eldar weapons... a bit of cable attached somehow... maybe to a little power pack esque shape made of well anything the turns out suitable, Ive got plenty of Space Marine parts... would it be too obvious or look just wrong to use the high techy bits from something like a power maul/mace?

Yeah, I was thinking about that and if you used the tech bits near the pommel of a chain sword or axe, I think you could split that bit down the middle, remove a little from material from the middle to thin it down to elf-dar size so it's not as bulky, then glue the sides back together. Then just file a groove down the side so it fits onto the spear shaft. Adding gems is always elf-dar-y.

Oh, and check out the seaguard officer or any of the seaguard spears.

I've got 10 of the sea guard that came in Island of Blood, theyre in a box somewhere... lol
Will hunt them out tomorrow methinks.
I've just looked at the new Eldar Farseer plastic kit... his spear is perfect what a shame they only included one weapon in the kit... :( I can't imagine its going to be a popular kit for bits sellers to cut down as it lacks optional parts and seems fairly mono pose from the sprue images on GW's site. Wouldve been nice of them to include whatever gear he's allowed (or some of it) like the Marine and chaos plastic chatacter boxes.
