-Wolf Lord
Thunderwolf, Frost Axe, SS, Wolftooth Necklace. -195pts

-Rune Priest? -100pts

-10 Grey Hunters
2 Plasma, Mark of the Wulfen, Standard. -185pts

-10 Grey Hunters
2 Plasma, Mark of the Wulfen, Standard. -185pts

-6 Long Fangs
5 Missles -140pts

-3 Thunderwolf Cav
3 Power Weapon -195

Unsure about rune priest. He would be nice, but unsure what to do with him. Maybe sit with the long fangs? I like the 4+ null for psyker defence. Maybe no priest and add some drop pods or something. What you guys think?

Drop the Lord I´ll come to that why. And also the 3 power weapons. Then play a TH SS thunderwolf so this leaves you with 3 thunderwolves. This costs 110 points. leaves you with 130 points. 2 rhino´s for your grey hunters cost 70 points gives you 60 points to play with. Give your TWC maybe another SS if you want. leaves you with 30 points. Or from 60 points a AV13 predator play with those. Give RP presience for re-roll to hit long fangs. So:

HQ:
Rune Priest 100 points (presience) (with long fangs)
Troops:
-10 Grey Hunters
2 Plasma, Mark of the Wulfen, Standard, rhino. -220pts

-10 Grey Hunters
2 Plasma, Mark of the Wulfen, Standard, rhino. -220pts
Heavy:
6 LF/5ML 140 points
Predator 60 points
Fast:
4 TWC
*1 TH/SS
*3 naked.

Nice list for 1k, only gripe would be swap the frost axe on your wolf lord for a thunder hammer, the storm shield means you still lose the extra attack so you may as well be str 10 concussive

Raptors (Raven Guard Successor)

Kicking traitor ass since 04

Regularly beat:
Black legion, Farsight enclave, Necrons, Guard and Eldar

One successful trade

This guy does nothing for you and you should drop him from the list. First of all, he's in power armor. Even though he has a 3++, you've invested so many points already that you should protect your investment with runic armor. Second of all, a wolf lord should NEVER take a wolf tooth necklace because he already has a WS 6. He hits everything on 3+ already. Third of all, a frost axe costs the same as a power fist. Why would you take a S6 AP2 Unwieldly weapon for 25 points when you could have a S8 AP2 Unweildly weapon for the same cost? Fourth,- and most important - he costs almost 200 points! That is nearly 20% of your points on a single model!

-Rune Priest? -100pts

I haven't met a SW list yet where a Rune Priest wasn't a solid choice. He can always find something to do. Yes, put him with the LF's and cast "Prescience" with him, or stick him up front with the GH's and let him shoot people with Jaws of the World Wolf, or hang back with the Long Fangs again and shoot living lightning all over the place.

Excellent choice. You can never have enough Grey Hunters. (OK, maybe 60 is enough ). They could benefit from some Rhinos or Drop Pods.

-6 Long Fangs
5 Missles -140pts

Nice choice. The only thing that could make this better is an ADL to stand behind.

-3 Thunderwolf Cav
3 Power Weapon -195

This unit is not legal. You can only have ONE model with a power weapon. But you don't want power weapons anyway because the TWC are already rending - which is better actually. If you do anything, give ONE of those models a power fist (or a Thunderhammer), and maybe a storm shield.

2500 pts

For 1000 points, this is a solid list. Rune Priest works in the Grey Hunters or the Long Fangs. I prefer the latter, giving them the BRB power Prescience so they can re-roll all their To Hit rolls.

The Wolf Lord will even work, but you should know two things:

1. A Power Fist is always better than a Frost Axe. They cost the same, have the same AP, and are both Unwieldy, but the Frost Axe is weaker. It can't cause Instant Death to multi-wound models that are Toughness 4-5 like the Power Fist can. So keep that in mind. Its never the better decision to take a Frost Axe.

2. A Wolf Tooth Necklace is useless against 99% of enemies. The target has to have WS 6 or greater for it to do anything. That's usually just 1 model in the enemy's list, their HQ. For non-Space Marines its almost unheard of. Several of those you want to avoid, doubly so since you don't have Saga of the Bear. Its "only" 10 points, but you can usually find somewhere more useful for it.

Edit: Also, Grugknuckle's comment regarding the TWC is spot on. Power Fist or leave 'em naked, and you can only take the 1 special weapon.

Alright guys, thanks for all the feedback. Really appreciate it as im still figuring all this out. Here's my list 2.0.

-Wolf Lord (Gotta keep him for now, just finished painting him, wanna show him off haha)
-Thunderwolf, Fist, SS. -185pts

- Rune Priest -100pts (Probably keep him back with the Long Fangs.)

-10x Grey Hunters
2xPlasma, Mark of Wulfen, Standard, Drop Pod. -220pts

-10x Grey Hunters
2xPlasma, Standard. -185pts

-6x Long Fangs
5x Missle Launcher -140pts

-3x Thunderwolf Cav
Powerfist -175pts

1000pts is kinda limited, I guess I could drop the Thunderwolfs all together maybe add a second drop pod or something. Im unsure, I really like thunderwolfs..

The TWC will do well at this point level. There won't be as much firepower pointing at them. Just remember that your Grey Hunters need to survive to claim their objectives. I know I for one sometimes get greedy with my Drop Pod deployments!
