Summer is a time when my group convenes and I start getting into 40k, so can someone give me a quick catch-up run of everything that has happened since the Dark Angels release, that was the last time I did anything 40k related

Jervis Johnson and Mat Ward revealed that they have ACTUALLY been implanted with the astartes organs. Donning power armor, the two of them started tear assing around London, opening fire on random civilians and bellowing about skulls for the skull throne. Eventually, the air force was mobilized to bomb them into oblivion, and the two were heard to mention something about f-ing snap shots before they incinerated.

I laughed at his, probably way harder than I should have.

On-topic however, apparently the Eldar now have a small-class Titan in their Codex. Costs more than a Baneblade - unless the price on a Baneblade has gone up since 2011 or 2012... whenever it was I got mine. (Just checked. It HAS gone up. But the Eldar mini-titan thing still costs a buck and a half more.)

Oh, Wraithguard are plastic. And Tau have one giant-butt battlesuit which can sometimes off itself. And Tau have new weapons which kill their users with radiation, slowly, painfully. But FOR THE GREATER GOOD! Am I right?

Codex: Chaos Daemons don't have to deep strike anymore, Flamer cheese is gone, and everyone gets random wargear.

GW's kept on keeping on, the codices have all been fairly well balanced, and from what I've read of the leaked Eldar codex, will only continue to be. I took a month or two off from before Chaos Daemons til just after Tau came out and I didn't miss all that much that interested me.

The codices are balanced thus far because they haven't let the rabid fanboy write any yet!

On the other hand, Fantasy is starting the downward trend again after WoC got a couple ridiculous rules, but DoC suck balls, and High Elves have what is pretty much a near auto-win button vs Daemons! (and both those books were by the same author! )
