After the opponent's Assault phase is completed, and one of their units is in close combat with yours, is your unit allowed to move the 6" in your Movement phase, say, away from the enemy?

If that is true, is the unit allowed to charge back in during their Assault phase?
I don't know, but it's a silly mental image: two armies, each taking turns to fall back and then charge in. It doesn't seem like it'd be possible. Is it?

Finally chose Orks for my first army, will need help. Please be patient.

I think you might have missed the part in the assault section where it talks about being locked in combat. That's okay, it happens to all of us at first. When a unit with a Weapon Skill is engaged in melee, it's stuck there until the melee is resolved (either due to victory, defeat, retreat, or the game ending). There are a very few exceptions to this, such as models that can teleport out of close combat, or models with the Hit and Run rule (which allow them to escape close combat).

Hope that helps, and good luck in the future!

Sorry about that, I only thought that applied to shooting. Thanks for the clarification.

Still though, the thought is hilarious.
