I've looked on ebay, I don't like the bidding wars and GW and FW are just too expensive. Does anyone know where I can find Imperial ships for a decent price?

You are both rational and emotional. You value creation and discovery, and feel strongly about what I create. At best, you're innovative and intuitive. At worst, you're scattered and unpredictable.

GW price IS the 'decent price'. Ebay prices have gone bonkers.

Sad day when someone says GW is the 'decent price'...

Just out of curiosity, what race/ships are you looking for? I've been designing stand-ins on Shapeways and I need to do some market research to see what ships to do next.

It doesn't matter what ships, as long as they are Imperial Light Cruisers...

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

GW's prices for BFG were actually pretty decent. $20 for 2 fully customizable plastic Imperial Cruisers. $12 for a pack of 3-4 escorts. $35 for a large metal battleship.

As for the future, you'll either have to rely on recasters, imitators, or stores with large existing stocks. Seriously, a lot of small local game stores, especially older places, have decent amounts of stock just sitting on the shelves or discount bins. Check out comic shops, they sometimes have a small wargames section often with stock that's been there since the 80s.

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

If you play as Orks, it could make things a little easier on you. Their Rocks and Space Hulks can easily be made with polystyrene, putty, plaster, and spare parts. Even their basic ships can be built from scratch fairly easily. I still have the rulebook and a couple of Ork ships, but I sold all of the chaos and imperial ships that came with the box years ago, which I do regret.

People who say that stories about rogue traders are all just Firefly rip-offs have obviously have never heard of Rogue Trader.
