Hi everyone this is my first army list with the new rulebooks (I left at the beginning of the 4th...), also this is not a tournament or strictly competitive one, i'm just trying to make something that doesn't loose every game with them models i have: a lot of infantry, few vehicles (a leman Russ and a basilisk, plus a sentinel)
I'm not very sure about unit's (and character's) equipments, so i'm asking for help here!

Of course i don't have any practical idea about how (and if) this list will work (again, i never played a game since the 4th).
About the Carapace armours on vets and HQs i've to say that i use Vostroyans and i will probably play a lot against Tau (friend's).
I hope you can help me here (i am open to everything, even complete rewritings!)

I'm a little confused on your henchmen squad. What is their purpose? You have Crusaders for AP defense, an Arco-Flagellant (which in my opinion isn't very good, DCA are much better) and a Servitor with a multi-melta who can't move and shoot it reliably. Also Coteaz must be with the squad if the Servitor want's to do anything. Interceptors and not that good if there are five of them.

I was trying to make a melee-close combat henchmen squad.
I suppose Crusaders are not the best choice?

Crusaders shouldn't be your main CC unit for henchmen. DCA do it much better. Give the DCA a axe and a sword. They will be able to kill marines with the sword and the axe for any terminator or 2+. Keep the crusaders though. DCA are vulnerable with only a 5++.
If you want a true CC for henchmen, DCA and Crusaders are the way to go. Have Coteaz roll for Divination.
Hope this helps a bit, sorry I can't be of help for IG.

Ok, i'll set up the henchmen this way. About the GKs side of this army list: should i boost the strike/interceptor squad up to 10 models (maybe using strike squad to save points for bigger unt)?
My plan was to balance the poor CC stats of imperial guards with GK allies (DS if possible) which units do you suggest (besides Coteaz and henchmen)?
(i suppose you play GK or inquisition anyway)

To bring the army up to 1850 points, i was planning to add a rhino for inquisitor and henchmen , chimaera for CC CCM and at least one for plasma or melta vets (should be 150 points+upgrades) and, if made math right, another leman russ (155+150, leaving 55 points for another chimaera if i take them naked and trade incinerator for psycannon in strike squad). what do you think?

Lose the vox as you already have the standard. Standard isn't even needed that much. Lose the boltgun. Take more guns to take advantage of BS4 if you have the points

Same as above, and lose the upgrades on the Commander (if you're in combat you're already dead). Carapace armour isn't needed, but keep it if you must.

These guys need chimeras to work properly. Lose the carapace on these guys, lord commissar and upgrades on CCS to afford this. Lose every single vox, orders won't be needed on these guys. Grenade launchers, mortars and (usually) sniper rifles aren't worth taking. Lascannons, Autocannons, Plasma Guns and Melta guns are the only upgrades worth taking. Be sure to stay inside the chimera most of the time though. You are correct to specialise special weapons though.

Not worth it. With only one AV14 vehicle you are presenting only one target for the enemy's AT weapons. This will die in one or two turns. Lose it to take some artillery, or flyer defense. (Vendettas are recommended, but one on it's own is vulnerable.

if these guys are footslogging then the unit is WAY too small. The servitor and the mystic aren't needed, as the DS units won't be DSing anywhere NEAR this unit, and the servitor can only snap fire on the move. If you want a combat unit, take 3-6 crusaders and then 6-9 DCA (as Finklelord said, take axe/sword combos).
Overall the list is pretty good, but needs quite a few minor tweaks through it. I have played Guard for most of this edition, and GK before that to great effect, so trust me on this one.

So you think that a basilisk works fine too instead of a leman russ?
About the sniper-mortar team, i was thinking to use them as medium-to-long pinning unit against blobs (i suppose you only take 1 pinning test even if you are targeted by 4 pinning weapons right?) and i added the mortar because i'm out of common vostroyans (and it does not slow down the unit having already snipers).
Are there infantry only lists for IG?

While foot guard lists CAN work they tend to center around sabre platforms or artillery platforms. Blob guard no longer works at all, so if you're taking vets you need chimeras (vets die too quickly to warrant 10ppm without them).
If you want to go down the artillery route, then I would strongly recommend FW platforms. They are all T7 W2 3+ platforms (plus crew, who all count as T7). The only downside is without Trojans they can't move (but with such long range that doesn't really matter). If you want bailisks take earthshaker platforms instead, but I recommend manticore platforms, which come standard with ordnance, S9 AP1 large blast ( IIRC) for 110pts (Again, IIRC). If for whatever reason you can't use FW, take a collosus, medusa, or manticore.
The pinning test plan doesn't really work because so many units these days have either high leadership or fearless. Sniper Rifles can work sometimes, but mortars never do (In My Experience). Take advantage of BS4, don't take blast weapons.
You still need flyer defense. FW hydra platforms are 50pts ( IIRC), and have skyfire AND interceptor, so are perfect. I would still recommend a detta, but you might not have the points, and, as mentioned previously, are quite vulnerable on their own.

Is the double HQ of any usefulness? i mean, since i understand now thats not melee- worth, could I replace it with a vendetta or a GK stormraven (adding some AT fire, since i''m the LR)? Are they enough to fill AA role? stil a better (and cheaper) choice the Hydra (but i will save one chimera using the Vendetta/valkyrie)
Since i'm in italy, FW products are harder to find (and expensive)! So i prefer to use a basilisk (that i already own)
About transports: is the Rhino good enough for the inquisitor or i should prefer the chimaera?

I agree, lose the other CCS, then take a detta. Hydras are no good without FW platforms as the tanks lack interceptor, so are only BS1 at ground targets. If you don't take the bassy, you *might* have room for two or *crosses fingers* three vendettas. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also the rhino should be fine, as it's not a shooty unit, but the lack of assault vehicle is troubling. If you DO take a storm chicken, stick them in that.

No, allies can never embark on the other army's transports. Maneuverability wouldn't be a problem with two. Three is if your meta is flyer-heavy.

Ok i completely removed the second HQ, alla voxes a (and the commissar of course) and on crusader so that the inquisitor's unit could fit inside a razorback or take a chimaera (the former one i choose) there are 10 points left (i will probably switch the razorback for a chimaera that can be used also with IG, should i decide to filed IG only army at some point in the future, but i'm still undecided). With saved points i addet a pair of vendettas.
