Hello,

Loving me some Marines gents and with the new DA kits coming out I decided to once again take the plunge. Besides some BA and SW in 2nd Edition, every Marine army I have done is DIY; this one is no exception.

I am basing them off the story in Planetstrike of the Marines Vindicant. They are not going to be a BA successor but will use the BA codex. I plan to have a full Blog about making these guys as they come along.

Now its up to you gents, let me know which color scheme looks the best.

First is the plain Grey. This is a subdued color but since every Marine isn't a character it works for the general troops. I want to experiment with bases, this guys base has some subdued foliage which looks like dying grass.

Next is a Marine with red accents. I would do most of the regular/assault marines with some red on them to accent their appearance. In addition, this guys base has bright greens and lots of foilage.

Next is a sternguard, I did his robe red but I'm not sure this is how they will all look....Maybe the robe should be black or the armor a different color because they are veterans?

So, thats it guys. Let me know what you think, I really appreciate it!

How is that grey, looks like space wolves light blue to me...

I would defienetly go with the last one - looks kick ass with the red hood

Thanks! Ya I wasn't sure about the red, thought it might be too much. I think I might keep it though and I will probably do my Death Company with the same scheme.

I was also thinking about adding a checkerboard pattern of yellow and red on some of the broader areas; would this look good or too much?

Also, would white script and designs, such as freehand wings, be over the top if painted on the sternguard?
