If Apotheosis was like fantasy, where you KEPT YOUR gak, this wouldn't be so bad.
Generally though It's pretty much Abbadon. He wasn't powerful enough, but he felt that if he became a daemon prince he wouldn't have time for his conquests due to being stuck in the warp.

Anyone who ever had to field one of the Daemon Primarchs as a normal Daemon Prince...
Fluff wise I can't think of anyone who accepted daemonhood and became weaker as a result. Kyras from DOW2 getting his face smashed in immediately post transformation was a bit embarrassing, mind.

He was still transforming, he even says his ascension isn't complete.
