Pretty much as the title says - when Typhus upgrades Chaos Cultists into Plague Zombies, do they still have a champion for the purpose of challenges and so on, or does the champ just become a normal zombie?

A champion is part of the initial unit before it 'becomes' a plague zombie unit so yes, they still have a champion.

Cheers, that's what I thought, good to know I still have a champ to feed into challenges.

and one who might get a roll on the table, as well - or do they lose the champions of chaos rule?

You can't purchase any upgrades for zombies unfortunately :(

I suppose they would still roll on the table if they win a challenge, but I don't see that happening very often. Would be hilarious to see a plague zombie champion turn into a demon prince tho!

True, but that has nothing to do with Champion of Chaos...

You beat me to it as I was editing the response - I was thinking of the mutation upgrade rather than the champ rule. However, as I said, don't see zombie champs surviving combat often tho.

He does not have to kill him in a challenge though does he?

The Champion of Chaos rule just cares if the chr with the Champion of Chaos rule kills an enemy chr right?

He could be making his normal attacks and if his attacks are allocated to the enemy chr that fails its save and dies then he could roll on the table.

Quite right, doesn't need to be a challenge.

Shooting counts too, for what it's worth, though of course the Plague Champion cant fire. Along with Precision Shot it's all the excuse you need to give other Champions plasma pistols.
