Although I still have several months to prepare, there are several experimental lists that I want to test out to get the best composition for my army. The format will be more like a 1999+1 i.e. no double FOC.

The list below is what I'm planning to use tomorrow & on Sunday, a hibrid of CSM & Daemons.

Primary Detachment: Chaos Space Marines
HQ
1. Huron Blackheart

2. Daemon Prince: MoK, Power Armour, Wings, Gift of Mutation, Axe of Blind Fury

TROOPS
1. 10 Cultists: Autoguns & Heavy Stubber

2. 10 Cultists: Autoguns & Heavy Stubber

FAST ATTACK
1. Helldrake: Bale Flamer

HEAVY SUPPORTS
1. 3 Obliterators: MoN, VoTLW

2. 3 Obliterators: MoN, VoTLW

3. Forge Fiend: 2 x Hades Autocannons, 1 x Ectoplasma Cannon

Secondary Detachment: Chaos Daemons
HQ
1. Bloodthirster: 1 x Exalted Reward, 1 x Greater Reward

TROOP
1. 19 Bloodletters: Upgrade 1 BL to a Bloodreaper

HEAVY SUPPORT
1. Skull Cannon of Khorne

TOTAL POINTS = 1999

I'll be facing mostly MEQs & Crons. What do you guys think?

I hope you kill all of your enemies troops before they kill your 20 infiltrated blood letters and cultists coming from reserves.

Switch the AoBF on the Khorneprince to the Black Mace. TBM has Fleshbane meaning you'll always wound on 2+, it gets ap2 from being wielded by a MC, it wont give you minus 1 WS (which is important when fighting marines) and it gives you the added bonus of the Curse special rule.

Also, this means you dont have to make him a prince of Khorne. I would go for Nurgle or Tzeentch.

If you are facing mostly MEQ and 'Crons, meaning T4 3+/4+ models, I would drop a set of oblits and get another Heldrake. Nothing kills Marines better than Heldrakes. You can use the points you saved to buff your troop choices a bit, I agree on the black mace switch and a Tzeentch DP re-rolls failed saves of 1's making him a lot tougher when taking small arms fire.

I don't give a damn about GW, their crap rules, their extortionist prices, hot models, limited edition books, Digital Release and spam in a box armies. I don't care about Forgeworld or their shoddy resin and their wacky unit rules or whether or not they're allowed. I don't care. I don't.

I love Warhammer 40000 and if you want to try to spoil that for me, or impose your own vision of it onto mine, then you can go suck a lemon.

Also make the dp tzeentch, get a second drake and drop the forge fiend

Yesterday I received an informal notification from the tourney working committee that it'll be 1850pts instead of 2K.

So I had adjusted my list a bit & played 2 games with the following army list:-

Primary Detachment: Chaos Space Marines
HQ
1. Huron Blackheart

2. Daemon Prince: MoK, Power Armour, Wings, Gift of Mutation, Axe of Blind Fury

TROOPS
1. 10 Cultists: Autoguns & Heavy Stubber

2. 10 Cultists: Autoguns & Heavy Stubber

FAST ATTACK
1. Helldrake: Bale Flamer

HEAVY SUPPORTS
1. 3 Obliterators: MoN, VoTLW

2. 3 Obliterators: MoN, VoTLW

3. 6 Havocs: MoS, Icon of Excess, VoTLW, 4 x Autocannons

Secondary Detachment: Chaos Daemons
HQ
1. Bloodthirster: 1 x Exalted Reward, 1 x Greater Reward

TROOP
1. 19 Bloodletters: Upgrade 1 BL to a Bloodreaper

TOTAL POINTS = 1850

1st Game: v/s Smurfs Marines
Mission: Crusade (with 3 Primary obj)
Deployment: Vanguard Strike (1st Turn Night Fighting)

Result: Enemy annihilated - claimed 1 Primary obj, Slay The Warlord & Linebreaker

Opponent scored First Blood.

2nd Game: v/s Dark Angels led by Belial
Mission: Big Guns Never Tire (with 5 Primary obj)
Deployment: Hammer & Anvil (1st Turn Night Fighting)

Result: Called game on Turn 4 - in possession of 3 Primary obj, Slay The Warlord, & destroying 1 Heavy Support (dakka Pred)

Opponent in possession of only 1 Primary obj (with no other scoring/contesting unit available) & First Blood.

Overall review:-
1. Huron worked his magic. His Master of Deception trait really put my key units in the perfect positions to win the games.

Still, I have to practice rolling my dice on my Chaos Boon Table cuz in both games, he was turned into Chaos Spawn after winning challenges

2. The big blob of BLs became a big blob of target practice. At T3, they are too fragile. At such a big-sized unit, I couldn't hide them from enemy LOS when infiltrating.

Maybe I should just make them a 10-'men' kill-team, or take Plaguebearers since they have T4 & Shrouded. What do you guys think?

3. You guys are right about the AoBF. Although I had fun insta-gibbing the enemy characters with its S8 atks, the -1WS penalty was quite bad since enemy Termies were hitting me on 4+. I'll definitely try the Black Mace next time, even more so with the appearance of Eldar's T8 W-Lords & W-Knights.

4. Never knew that the Forge World's Contemptor Dredd have become official. The DA player took out my Bale-drake like it was nothing. I expected the Nephilim & Aegis Quad-Guns, but not the Contemptor Dredd.

I'm not aware of anything making the Contemptor Dread official as all of the rules I've seen for it are Forge World (Imperial Armor or Horus Heresy)... so your opponent should have asked permission to use before the game. Check with the TOs but I'm guessing you won't have to worry about 'em in the actual tourney.
