From what I understand this is an incredibly rare sculpt and I owe it all to fellow Dakkanaut WingWong. The model itself is very well cast, but I feel the face leaves a little bit to be desired, none the less so does my skill at painting faces!

This is nice, everything except the face, like you said. The texture of the pelts look great, and there is just enough hint of chaos without being in your face. Shame it looks like he is gurning or something, still better than I could do

he looks great but as you said and the first poster its just the face that takes it away.

Have you thought about replacing the face with a Terminator sergeant's head? Or maybe the head of one of the new Praetors?

I did, but honestly I am really just using this as a placeholder until FW releases theirs, so I don't know that I want to go through the effort of carving out the head and all the piping behind it to replace it all just for a stand in.

He is also one of the last pieces of my Sons for now, I will be moving on to another Legion in the near future after Massacre releases, and will be ordering a Legion Praetor soon, splitting the pack with my brother, he is using the power armor for Garro and I am saving towards the next army.

i have this mini on my painting table right now, along with the Emperor from the same guy...
this mini is a beast, and the best Horus sculpt so far...
i'm sure Forge World will blow this one out of the water though...

i glued my head on looking to the side...
it hides the goofy expression...
i'll also be doing a heavy red OSL, like in the Visions of Heresy...
that should help, too...

congrats on scoring such a rare mini, and getting him painted up so quick...
