Hey,

How do you people view using different base sizes on the same models from different releases?

For instance, I've 2 older metal/plastic Broadsides and a single Forgeworld one (that came on the bigger base, same as the new models) - do you think I could run into problems in bigger venues like tournaments and such if the older ones were on the bases they came with and the newer models on the larger ones that they came with?

Normally? Not a problem.

In a tournament, legal unless the TO ruled otherwise.

And even if the TO allows it you may be looked at funnily.

In short, ask the tournament organisation.

I think it's ideal to rebase old models when the base size changes, as it can make a pretty huge difference to some units (deep striking with terminators on 25mm bases would be a whole lot easier, for example)

I wouldn't really have a problem with your old broadsides being on the bases they came with, and I certainly wouldn't tell you you have some kind of ethical imperative to rip them off and buy new bases for them. With tournaments, though, this is something you'll want to run by the people organising it.

Just placing a based old broadside on a 60mm base should also give just enough of a hill to bring them up to the height of the new models, too.

I would recommend rebasing. It will at least look funny if you don't, although it's not required by the rules. Some local tournament organizers might require it, to reduce confusion.

I rebase my old models in these situations.

Just buy bigger bases and glue your already based models on top, depending on how you base your models previously you could make it look better than just a flat surface
