Now at about a week in there is Warriors of Darkmyre Obliteration Edition
This is basically a relaunch of their canceled project from April (the thread for that version was http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/514907.page#5516184). The page layout of the new one is pretty spammy but they say they will be addressing that soon. The miniatures themselves look pretty good as do the doorway terrain pieces and the big folding arena map. The molded arena maps I am less impressed by.
There is actually a tier that gives you the game in a "warchest" with a leather handle:

Cool stuff, looks like fun, also looks like the funding goal was already hit which is always good news for a kickstarter.

They've unlocked a few stretch goals (like an extra figure added to tiers and some dice), have added more figure options like Santana, and have cleaned up the images of most of the figure options by merging them into groups of smaller thumbnails.

I don't know, it looks fine. But these small companies should seriously wait till they fulfill their first big KS before trying another.

I see what you mean RiTides - I had seen their previous KS, Damsels of Darkmyer, but I did not pledge to that KS. Seems to be the thing with quite a few KS projects that I've looked at, the expectations on delivery times are not met due to shipping issues, items received broken, etc...
It's a chance on how long you're willing to wait IF the estimated delivery time becomes due.
I backed DF and Itars projects for game tiles and just seeing how well both those did, I'm expecting the delivery date to be missed because of the volume they have to cover.

There's been alot of updates and additional things added to this KS that would benefit multiple game systems.
They also have pledge levels now for just miniatures if that's all you want.
Check it out again if you haven't recently!

Hey Bots!
SAW 2
Can you believe that In one weeks time we created a Designed a trap, Sculpted it, Sent it to be prototyped, got it back photographed it, speed painted it and presented it to you guys IN LESS THAN A WEEK?
That's how I love you guys. This is a representation of the duel blade, don't judge the paint job I painted both these in 13 minutes. The masters will be sharper with higher depthe in the groves and rivets, but these resins are GREAT representations of the DDF 1 x 1 trap and the scale that will come to you for your 28MM figs. The figures you see here are our original WOD platest minis that were made in the early 90's so they are a great representation of the figs I've been seeing you guys mention playing with your DF sets. OUR OE traps fit our own figures better.
BOOM BOOM!
I am so, so, very proud of this figure, she is 90% complete as show here, we have yet to finish the highlights, the face expression the grips and the terrain base, but this gives you a great idea. This Lady Cyclops is a MUST have for old school sci-fi/fantasy or stop motion fans.
You guys have had a GREAT day here you have already lowered her price to about 27 bucks. Her 32MM version will be available in DP #3. YES the images should say DDF not DFF sorry.
Thanks Bots.

You might want to inform the company running the kickstarter that their logo is a direct and incredibly blatant ripoff of Swingin' Ape Studios' (fantastic and incredibly underrated) "Metal Arms: Glitch in the System." In fact, I think it might even be ripped from the original concept art.
It might be in their best interests to change it. I, and I would hope others, would not buy from a company that plagiarizes so blatantly.

Fafnir - I you might want to do some research first before making accusations against JunkRobot. Yes, I agree - their logo is almost dead-on to the Sierra - Swingin' Ape Studios' game but that was a long time ago. The game came out in 2003 and in 2005 they were bought out by Blizzard, which hasn't done a thing to re-release it or make a sequel.
Sorry but it's been 7 yrs and I don't see the harm in JunkRobot using a similar logo.

The thing is, it's taken from the actual concept artwork. There's a difference between looking similar and stealing.
Not to mention that the game was rereleased as an Xbox original in 2008, after Blizzard bought the Studio.

After seeing all the traps they've come up with, it might not be a bad idea for them to consider doing a run of just those.
Traps like that can be used in all kinds of games. I might look into picking some up down the line.
Could give your future Arena Rex games a bit of a nasty streak, not to mention Darkmyre obviously.

Fafnir - I stand corrected. I was not aware that Xbox Live had re-released it as a downloadable game in 2008. Guess I'm the one who should do more research.
I did message Misty of JunkRobot asking her if she could shed some light on this and this was her reply:
JunkRobot
Sunday Jun 23 2013, 6:57pm EDT
I bought the logo off of free download site a couple 3 years ago, if there's a problem like that I'll look into it and change it immediately. They may very well be right since I did not have it custom made just tell them I'd be happy to change it and I'll look into it.
As I was writing this, she sent another email stating that she will look into changing her logo after the fires that go along with this KS are snuffed out. Even based on the gossip, that's not the kind of business she wants to run.
Please accept my apology and I do hope they come out with a Metal Arms sequel, I have never heard of it before, but the raves from other players makes this game a must have.
Best Regards,
Bill aka Dyrewolff

There was some talk of traps above, so let's put up an update from earlier today that deals with traps;
Thanks to Jenney.....
Update #39 · Jun 23, 2013 · 9 comments
Traps Howdie everyone, this is Jenney. Let’s talk about Traps.
First, there are 3 levels that are Traps only (Traps = 5 choices, Traps Traps = 10 choices, and Traps Traps Traps = 20 choices)
Some other levels come with trap choices as well.
What can I do with my reward level choices?
You can pick any Trap Pack or Individual Trap available (except for the Dark Temple Traps, but we will discuss those in a minute).
Most traps come in two sizes 1x1 and 2x2. 1x1 is called DDF (Darkmyer Dragon-forged) and most of these come in both resin and metal 2x2 is called OE (Obliteration Edition)and these only come in resin Some traps are only available in one size
(ex. Bear Trap is 1x1. There is no 2x2 version of this. Only a resin 1x1 and a metal 1x1 are available for the Bear Trap).
There are also Trap Packs with can contain multiple of a given trap
(ex Flames = 2 flame units in the trap pack).
These are a little more expensive to add-on individuals and in groups, so there are individual traps also available to be picked which are cheaper to add-on. Some traps (ex Acid) only come with 1 trap (so the pack and the individual are the same thing) Spear Trap only comes in metal for the 1x1 and only in resin for the 2x2, but there is both a pack and an individual for both options.
Currently there are 61 different variations available. The Trap Breakdown spreadsheet has a separate line for each and every variation available. Go first to the trap name that you are looking for and you will see which variations are available for that trap. Pick the size 1x1 or 2x2 (some traps are 1x3 or 1x4 instead of the 2x2… anything not 1x1 has been highlighted a peach to stand out for you).
You can pick any of the variations (except the Dark Temple traps) to satisfy your pledge rewards.
For example. I am pledged $50 for Traps which gets my 5 Trap choices.
1- OE Quicksand Trap Pack - Resin (2-2x2 traps, etc)
2- OE Dwarven Roller Trap Pack - Resin (1-2x2 trap)
3- Acid Trap Pack – clear resin (1-1x1)
4- DDF Spiked floor Trap Pack – metal (3 1x1 traps, etc)
5- DDF Saw Blades Trap Pack – metal (6 1x1 traps, etc) BUT I’M NOT DONE, you say. I want more.
Once your reward selections are complete you can Add-On individual sets of each variations (pink color in spreadsheet) or multiple sets in a combo pack (purple color in spreadsheet).
I picked 6 minis/$30 and looked down that column because what I want is in that price option (all in the same column on the spreadsheet to make mixing and matching easier for you all).
1- Spin Blades Trap Pack – metal (2-1x1 traps)
2- Spin Blades Trap Pack – metal (2-1x1 traps)
3- Hands of the Fallen Trap Pack – metal (1-1x1 trap)
4- Hands of the Fallen Trap Pack – metal (1-1x1 trap)
5- Golden Imp Trap pack – metal (1-1x1 trap)
6- Golden Imp Trap pack – metal (1-1x1 trap) NOTE: the majority of traps can be found at the 3/$20 resin combo set. OK let’s talk about the Dark Temple Traps.
They are not available for your regular reward level choices but are available as an ADD-ON only to your pledge. They come individually in different sizes and materials. (see spread sheet breakdown per trap).
If you wanted the all in a set, the only set available currently is the DDF (1x1 sized) Resin for $50. Otherwise all traps can be added-on individually based on what variation you are interested in.
So, DarkTemple is Add-On Only and not available for your regular reward level choices. (worth repeating) So I want that Greedy Mimic Trap.
Sounds awesome. 1- Greedy Mimic Trap – 1x1 metal = $10 If you were referred by a friend, an enemy, even a frenemy and you were part of the Free Trap for Rreferred New Backers Campaign where you both received a free trap, here is how that works.
They count exactly the same as reward level pledges. You can pick anything except for the Dark Temple Traps. (Or the Legendary Traps now that I think about it, but then again they don’t unlock until 40K, so I am not worried right this second about them). SO my final pledge is $50 for the Traps Reward Levels, + $30 for my Add-On Mix and Match Combo, +$10 for my Dark Temple Greedy Mimic. My total pledge is $90 PLUS my $7 for shipping…
SO = $97 If anyone has any specific questions or wants help with knowing what they want, but doesn't how to put it together into a pledge, stop by the comments and we can help.
I LOVE ME SOME TRAPS! Toodles, Jenney

Just wanted to also say that of the companies I have dealt with on Kickstarter, JunkRobot is head and shoulders above any others in terms of making sure that you are satisfied with your pledge afterwards.
I have spoken to Misty and she confirmed that there will be a mechanism after things end if you missed out on something and you need to increase your pledge to accommodate.
By the way, people mentioned Trap only pledges, and while it's not a new thing, there are several traps only pledge levels;
And a mix of traps, tiles and room elements,
Oh, and there are 65 minutes left, Go go go!
