Hey all, this could arguably go under army lists but I felt tactics was more appropriate because I'll be going over how I'm going to be using these guys. There is a mini rouge trader going on tomorrow at the 750pt level and the only viably painted army that is here right now since everything else is being transferred here are deathwing terminators. Current list is as follows:

Belial-storm bolter and sword of silence, warlord

1 squad 5x DW termis. 1 assault cannon--
Sgt= TH/SS ----both squads normal termis minus stated upgrades.
----
1 squad 5x DW termis. 1 assault cannon--
Sgt=Power Sword

1 land speeder with typhoon missile launcher. (has missiles modeled on so with WYSIWYG they have to stay)

750 pts.

My plan was to keep belial in cover and run him up the board never staying terribly far from the typhoon speeder but make sure he doesnt get shanked early on. Then I was going to deathwing assault the other two squads since Belial and land speeder would count as the other two units, and hope i pepper the hell outta whatever I land near with TL shooting.

Other WYSIWYG models: two cyclone missile launcher termis (should they replace assault cannons?), 1 standard bearer, 4 DW knights & 1 knight master, 4 TH/SS termis (one modeled with SS on side of TH so he can have chainfist also (is this legal since you dont have to replace anything for SS or melta bombs on armybuilder?) and one termi with chainfist-took him outta squad because it put me 5 over for the 750, and a dreadnaught which I have what looks like hurricane bolters and some crazy looking arm with 4 prongs and an undermounted meltagun (no clue) though I also have two autocannon arms I can use instead.

TL;DR

Not sure I'm using my options optimaly.

Should I use cyclone missile launchers instead of assault cannons in this situation?

Are there better uses of points for what I have available (list above)

Is there a better way to run this? Also general tips on what to look for and avoid. First time trying out my Dark Angels

Couple tweaks, although if you played your game today I may be too late:

Sgts. cannot have anything other than PS/SB. It sucks, but they haven't FAQ'd it and it's unlikely they will at this point.

Don't waste Belial's no-scatter deep strike by walking him. Take one squad with him and try to land behind a tank, using the assault cannon at rear armor and utilizing split fire with the storm bolters to shoot at personnel. Remember your weapons are TL on the DWA.

Walk the other shooty squad and keep the land speeder at 36" to use both weapons or outside 36" to just use the TML and stay safe from your opponent's fire.

To each his own, and if you have him modeled with the sword fine, it isn't horrible BUT, I prefer him with TH/SS to add survivability; he is your warlord after all.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

Thank you for the reply. I didn't realize the Sgts couldn't take stuff, that is pretty lame. I ended up placing third out of ten thanks to complete paint job and painting but I lost one match exactly as you said by a deepstrike mishap killing the whole squad after scattering and my opponents reccomended the same thing that I should walk the other squad. All in all a good learning experience and I really liked the feel of them so went over and got some more DA boxes of stuff.
