After finally persuading my other half that new models were a safe investment, i now have a little leeway in the models i can field/ purchase.

I still think a fragnought is always a better choice than a blender dread.

I'd put heavy bolters on the baal over extra flamers.

Agree with Martel on the sponsons, the HB give the Baal some long range firepower.

On the frag cannon v blood talons, its a toss up, if it gets stuck into the inevitable nid blob its going to be fun, but from a drop pod the frag cannon version (especially if the power fist arm has the heavy flamer upgrade) will give any opponent kittens and blow holes in entire units (3 template shots) not to mention anything trying to charge said dread will face 3D3 overwatch shots 2D3 of which are rending

I'm not sure the fragcannon gets overwatch twice, actually. Template weapons with a ROF are not discussed clearly.

Regardless, dropping in with a blender dread and hoping to get an assault off on the next turn is always a dubious plan to me. A lot can happen during your opponent's turn. I'd prefer to get my frags up front.

It's icing that the Fragnought still swings at STR 10. Take that, Wraithknight! Compare this to the blender dread vs Wraithnight. STR 10 is rare and valuable, and lightning claws are neither.

Ok I'm hearing the love for the fragnought. So where do you he the parts to make one? Are they included in the rest of the box? What about the rest of the list?

The Pred sticks out to me.. Mayb give it extra armor so that is you don't get unlucky and snap fire for a turn.

The Fragnought parts come in the Furioso kit... Only difference is the big shotgun

Pretty decent amount of flamer. You will need some AP 1 or 2 for the MCs. The tyranids will field them and you don't really have a way of getting rid of their 6 wounds each, apart from the flamestorm cannon. And I know if I was the tryanid player, getting rid of that would be first priority.

It has been sugessted elsewhere to take out the Libby for a Reclusiarch for 2 reasons. 1) The Libby will have a hard time pulling off powers with Shadow in the Warp, and 2) The Reclusiarch has an extra wound and and invun, so is more survivable.

Any thoughts?

I prefer not to tailor. The libby is all my lists. Even more now that the Runes of Warding got nerfed to oblivion. I'm sure shadow of the warp well be next.
