So I bought a few boxes of Wraithguards, a knight, farseer, spiritseer, fighter and some jetbikes to start a new Eldar army as I wait for my CE edition codex to come. Never played CE Eldar before, but figured I'd do some preliminary painting and building while I wait for the book. Figured the easiest thing to do would be the Wave Serpent, since I don't need to know the stats too much for a cheap transport (I glanced through the stores copy anyway) for my Wraithblade guys. I start trying to put it together... and notice the spruces don't match the book. Assuming I had the wrong spruces, I was about to give up when my friend pointed out that the guide was for the Falcon. My FLGS didn't have any other Wave Serpents, so taking it back for the wrong guide wouldn't help me much immediately. I was wondering if anyone had any idea where I could find a copy of the assembly guide for the Wave Serpent?

Edit: As a side note, would it be acceptable to paint an Iyanden force as more orange than yellow? I'm not a fan of yellow, but really want an Iyanden themed army.

I don't know of a pdf of the instructions, but check out this vid. Might have the answers to your questions:

As for painting, you can paint your stuff anyway you'd like. You can come up with your own fluff for a Craftworld that is very similar to Iyanden. You can say it's Iyanden, and maybe just say it's a splinter group that took up the color 'orange' in mourning of their fallen brothers.

Really, whatever justification you come up will be fine. Nowhere in 40k does painting restrict you on the rules you use.

The word you're looking for is 'sprue'. A spruce is a type of tree.

If you lick a little further through the book, does it have a separate section for the waveserpent? GW started combining the instructions for a lot of the same-chassis vehicles a while back.

If not, just give them a call. They should be able to post or email you the correct instructions.

Actually didn't know they were called sprues. Thanks for informing me.

This video looks sufficient, I really appreciate the link. If I still have trouble I suppose I'll call GW for a guide! Thanks to both of you.

Spruce is a common mistake.

If this is your first time putting together vehicles like serpents, I recommend you buy a few hundred elastic bands.
