Hello Dakka,

I'm looking into buying an N64, because retro games. At present, I have a PC monitor with DVI-D in, which is being used by my desktop PC, and VGA in. Is there some miracle adapter which will allow me to plug an N64 into this monitor?

Or, alternatively, do PC monitors with SCART inputs exist? I'm sure they must do...

I'm trying to find a way to get an N64 which doesn't require me to buy a TV licence. I have thought of emulators, with legally-sourced ROMS of course, but you can't beat the original hardware.

Thanks in advance!

+ emulator. Best method. Better than the original hardware, I am serious.

My gf bought the Mayflash SNES USB controller and we're currently playing Goof Troop again. I'd cry manly tears if I could. It's so. Awesome.

Normally, I'd agree that an emulator is the best solution... But Pokémon Stadium etc. need the Transfer Pak, and Super Smash Bros. needs several controllers. Plus N64s look awesome, especially the Crystal Green one. The only translucent console I'd buy, because normally I hate them.

EDIT: Ignore the bit about several controllers, that adapter is in fact the two-port one. I've seen similar adapters with only one controller port in the past.
