Hi everyone,

I did not formally introduce myself yet but Im Arjan (27) from the Netherlands.

I started painting at 13, but had a break of about 10 years (from 16-26) due to other interests (gaming mostly).
And recently I picked it up again.
When I started at 13, I painted The Empire mostly, but got borred after about a year. So I started LoTR. I enjoyed it but the miniatures are not that detailed. So now I started my High Elf army.

The models I painted so far are:
High Elf prince of griffon
10 Spearman
and 10 Swordmasters of Hoeth.
(Bases still need to be done for most models)
Currently working on 10 spearman, 5 archers and 10 Seaguards and I have to say... I do not like painting archers at all!

Anway, hope you'll enjoy the pictures (and if you have any suggestions please tell me! also on how to make archers more fun to paint... ).
(And if you'd like to see these models move, or see my older models, please visit: http://www.youtube.com/user/thepaintedminiatures/videos)

Wow. Tremendously clean and neat paint job that gives these models a really unique depth and character. Well done!

It's spelled "cavalry." NOT "calvary."

Well done! Very clean paintjob. I'd suggest a little work on the gems though, just to make them pop. Keep it up!

Thank you very much for the nice words.
I hope to find time tomorow or the day after to get some static grass and small sand (the sand and grass I got right now is a bit ugly). If I do I will finish the bases and post the results (in one picture this time ).

Currently Im working on the final 10 spearman including the command group. I quit my archers for now because from a painters point of view they are just no fun. Maybe if I ever start playing the game actively I will paint them .

I'll keep you updated!

Really nice bold, clean colors.

Welcome to the forum! And yes, we are proud of our Orkmoticons.

I will note, however, that the Showcase sub-forum rules specifically require models to be completely finished, including bases. So for that reason I need to move your thread to the general Painting & Modeling forum.
