Hi Everyone

A few of us at my LGC were talking about the new HE book & cool themed armies

Someone mentioned a Caledor Dragon themed army with all minis converted if no model present to have a heavy dragon influence

Now obviously the list would include 1-2 dragons, dragon princes & maybe some eagles/phoenix converted to be drakes etc

so heres what i came up with, could it work??

Lords
Prince, Dragon Armour, Great Weapon, Moon Dragon, Armour of Silvered Steel, Talisman of Preservation, Biting Blade, = 496pts (2+/4+/2+ against Fire)
Lords Total = 496pts

Heros
Dragon Mage of Caledor, Level 2, Dragon Armour, Sword of Might, Shield of Merwyrm, Enchanted Shield =395pts (3+/4+/2+ against Fire)
Hero Total = 430pts

Core
9 Silver Helms, 9 Shields, FC = 237pts
8 Silver Helms, 8 Shields, FC = 214pts
8 Silver Helms, 8 Shields, FC = 214pts
Core Total = 665pts

Special
7 Dragon Princes, FC = 233pts
7 Dragon Princes, FC = 233pts
Special Total = 466pts

Rare
Eagle (Drake)
Eagle (Drake)
Frostheart Phoenix (Maybe smaller dragon/wryven??)

Main Total = 2397pts

I think your Armour of Silvered Steel replaces your normal (Dragon) armour
On the other hand, I'm absolutely sure that you cannot have 2 magic items of the same category (ie 2 magical shields on your dragonmage)
An Icedrake for the Frost Phoenix would look cool

I do think you're lacking one big punchy unit with ranks
Maybe group the Silver helms in one 18-21 dudes unit and add some Reavers for cheap Fast Cav feigned fleight + shooting at enemy redirectors

Heavy armor,, dragon helm +shld or enchanted shield gives him just as good an armor save, then he can take a magic weapon for strength or whatever (stubborn crown is good as well)

Lords Total = 496pts

Heros

Give hiim dragon armor and enchanted shield or charmed shield to keep him alive and maybe the crown of altrazar or however it's spelled. Usually a parry save doesn't work when mounted

Hero Total = 430pts

Core Combine these into two units of 13-15 with banner and musician
9 Silver Helms, 9 Shields, FC = 237pts
8 Silver Helms, 8 Shields, FC = 214pts
8 Silver Helms, 8 Shields, FC = 214pts
Core Total = 665pts

Special should probably be combined as well, otherwise they break too soon. With the stubborn crown they could be used to flank units maybe. Either kit out the champ as a mini noble, or don't take him in these types of situations.

You're still facing one big issue though : Watchtower scenario
You have nothing to put in there if I'm not mistaken (don't think the Eagles can go in)

Yeah id have to make sure that there was no enemy units in/around it & i was the closet - thats the best i could do really in that Scenario

I like the tweak but recommend you keep the eagles as eagles. Baby drakes should not be allowed anywhere near a combat, you get a S4 T4 little monster but lose what in a few short decades will be a new Sun Dragon as expendable chaff. I cant see the High Elves, let alone the Dragons accepting this.

Frostheart Phoenix as an 'ice drake' fits. You could also make a 'drake' with an archer with a great bow on it to counts as a a Skycutter. Lots of dragony options to choose from.

You can make 'dragon runners' as a special unit. Dragon Runners are based on historical chariot runners in ancient Egypt, an elite light infantry warrior would be assigned to each chariot and would get off as very early form of dragoon or even 'mechanised infantry' to hold objectives.

You need no more Dragon runners than you have dragons and fake dragons in your list. They hitch a ride on the dragons as pillion passengers get off at the battles start and deploy as a squad, thus your Shadow Warriors become an airmobile unit, strategically at least.
