Is hive commander really needed? All of the FMCs should start on the table anyway behind cover. Also, OA - tyrant and harpy weapons are all twin-linked anyway.

Deathleaper? Really not seeing it here. Doom or Zoeys in a pod for me.

Shrikes. Want to like them, but they are expensive for a T4, 5+ armour save model. I'd go for 20 gargoyles instead and use them as a screen. You don't care if gargolyes die.

Preferred enemy gives rerolls to wound and hive commander gives outflank to a troops unit, which is incredibly useful. Additionally I will start things in reserve about 1/3 games terrain and opponent dependant., so the reserve boost is handy. Will consider switching though.

The shrikes are useful as a distraction, which gargoyles wouldn't be. I don't find myself needing an y more screening than provided by the gaunts. The shrikes offer a better protection by being a high priority target, the amount of firepower needed to take down 5 shrikes particularly with endurance and/or telekine dome from tervigons is considerable and keeps Tyrants and Tervis alive by soaking shots, or are ignored and rampage through the enemy army.

Death leaper is not that great, but will almost always contest an objective turn 5 winning games.

I think you'd benefit from Doom more that DL. Cost is roughly the same.

If you're going for "distraction" factor, Doom will help those Shrikes turn from a distraction to effective. Doom arriving can give them that 1 more turn to get into assault and then you won't be wasting 275 points. You can dive them into tough units and lay them to waste.

Yes DL is good at contesting objectives turn 5, but what if it goes until 6? DL is dead, he's not very durable. Moreover, if your Doom survives for more than 1 turn he AND his spod can contest different objectives.

Consider dropping DL for Doom.

Otherwise, I like the list. I'm not a fan of Harpies with the emergence of Tau incredible AA weapons, but to each their own!

I dig this air assault list. Run it and post a batrep with pictures.

Every army has a hard counter; Tau are yours but I love harpies. As for DL vs. Doom, DL is a lot more "rule #1," i.e., "Rule #1: Look Cool."

Rule #1 > Winning.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

Dark Eldar are a harder counter than Tau, but yeah Tau are rough.
