So I sold off my Cygnar and now I am debating to pick up either Trollbloods or Protectorate of Menoth.

Just curious what the Dakka community thinks!

I like the looks of both armies so that is not a factor. I am looking for something opposite of Cygnar which I think I will get with either one of these options.

Let me know what you guys think and if you have a reason why post it up!

Leave your Morrowan heresies behind and Obey the True Law, you know you want to....

Well, Trollbloods would probably be a more "opposite" faction, as they're even more attritiony and less shooty than Menoth....but they're filthy Dhurnia worshipers, so we can rule them right out

Looking for a club in Brisbane, Australia? Come and enjoy a game and a beer at Pubhammer, our friendly club in a pub at the Junction pub in Annerley (opposite Ace Comics), Sunday nights from 6:30. All brisbanites welcome, don't wait, check out our Club Page on Facebook group for details or to organize a game. We play all sorts of board and war games, so hit us up if you're interested.

Pubhammer is Moving! Starting from the 25th of May we'll be gaming at The Junction pub (AKA The Muddy Farmer), opposite Ace Comics & Games in Annerley! Still Sunday nights from 6:30 in the Function room Come along and play Warmachine, 40k, boardgames or anything else!

Besides trollbloods being pretty different from cygnar, I'd choose them from simply a modeling standpoint. For me, they have the most dynamic poses and wow factor for non players who might see them on your shelf in between games. The mountain king might suck, but I've yet to find a friend who didnt think he looked insanely cool, regardless of if they played or not.

Menoth on the other hand is just armor and fire. Meh.

Poo Poo on you good sir. We're more than that. You forgot the spiked maces and chains.

And we're getting the second ever battle engine warcaster, and if his artwork is anything like the model he's going to be kick arse amazing. I give you, Epic Reznik!

Oh look, now it's armor and fire and horses. You silly menites are a creative lot aren't you?

Best thing that happened to the white faction is the monks, but sadly they currently exist only as solos and a caster that uses a weapon instead of punching people. If they ever decide to expand on that front I'll reconsider putting serious thought on playing that faction.

Um, how would I even know what to recommend if you don't tell me what you like?

Otherwise I am not going to vote and tell you what to play. Man up and make your own decision.

Well, seeing as Menites were those who stood against the followers of the Worm, including trolls, at Thrace, you've come upon an interesting choice.

Do you choose the side of Golivant, who flayed the Trollkin leader alive?

Or do you choose the trollkin, whose rage was so volatile that they're flayed leader went into the void to later become Bane Lord Tartatus?

Correct Answer: Cryx. All things end in Cryx

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

First off, don't be hating on Amon...he's cool (not necessarily very competitive, but a hell of a lot of fun when I play him)

Second off, it sounds like somebody needs a good burninating. Armor and fire and horses....convenient tools to burninate the haters

I humbly suggest the Wrack for the non-believer, I need more Focus.
