... can I stop now?!

Seriously, though, how many fuzzy bodies is good if I plan on going up to 2500? I'm going to use an Exalted Vermin Lord ( in the mail ) as a Hellpit and get some more Warp Lightning Cannons ( got one ). I have a bunch of Skaven Lords, engineers, and a Grey Seer.

I plan on getting two boxes of Storm Vermin in the future because I like the looks of them over the plague monks. Maybe some of those gutter/night runners with poisoned slings (I hear that's neat?).

But I just want to know if I'm good? Are 40 Storm Vermin enough to push a Screaming Bell, should I choose to get one? Also, Doom Wheels?

I'm trying to stick with Ruin and lightning and being all dark side of the Rat force.

40 SV are fine with a Bell, even though you usually do NOT want the bell in CC, so Clanrats are better suited to this task
Use the SV with a War-Litter warlord in there as a mop-up unit after you weakened your opposition
You should plan on 2-3 Slaves units (40-50 bodies) and some Rat Darts to slow down/redirect your opponent (I use crappy-looking brownish-painted clanrats for slaves)
Night Runners are sadly absolute crap, Gutter Runners with Slings+poison are fast and can destroy anything. Use them in units of 5/9/13 (to limit panic tests)
Doomwheels are good units, absolutely brilliant at hunting big multi-wound threats

I invite you to check the UnderEmpire boards for specialized Skaven advice and discussions

The bellstar is quite a combat threat. Although that does come from the assassins. It forces you to kill an entire unit of skaven, thus tying up a unit for possibly the entire game. Now, take a second to imagine what would happen if you then rolled a 14 on the bell in combat.

205 clanrats could be enough. I was going to use about 250 clanrat models when I was toying with my list. Mind you, it was a bell, 2 assassins, 40 stormvermin, a hellpit, a cannon, and slaves.

... This. My god. This.

My best friend plays skaven, and i look at his army, and i'm just like "DAFUQ!" when I think about even trying to paint it. He has like 5-6k in points.

I get ancy when i look at my 6k of high elves, which is probably a third of the body count.

That's why i figure speed paint everything except weapons team, war machines, monsters and characters. Basically just paint single models and elite and just speed paint everything else. I have about 200 models myself of skaven.
