Subject: My new spray paint can is spitting instead of spraying.... Is it defective?

I bought a new can of GWs spray paint today to start testing potential paint schemes for the Eldar army I want to start, and for some reason the spray can is shooting out larger drops of paint instead of the normal consistent spray of droplets. It just splattered drops on my test model instead of giving it a full coat. I shook it more, and it was still doing it. I took it back inside and shook it for 5-10 minutes, and it was still doing it. I have bought many of these spray cans in my tenure in this hobby and this has never happened before. Maybe worth noting: this is the first can I've bought at my new home in Texas, and it is pretty humid outside, if that is somehow a factor.
So is it a defective can or is there something I can do to fix it? I bought it from hobbytown USA and still have the receipt so if it is defective I will try and go get it replaced.

It is probably defective. Sounds just like something that happened to a buddy of mine. Call GW and they will send you a new can.
No biggie.

1. Return the can to whoever sold it to you.
2. Go to walmart.
3. Buy Krylon and bag of oreos.
4. profit.

Humidity is the enemy of aerosol spray paints, but a can spewing out large droplets sounds like an issue with a partially blocked nozzle. Should be reparable/replaceable (pop off plastic nozzle and flush with solvent or swap with one from an old/different can), but it also shouldn't be an issue you have to deal with. You should be able to exchange it where you bought it (if not, then directly from the manufacturer), so it's mostly just a matter of deciding which is easiest.

I have this problem with a couple of my cans. My solution is to go to Home Depot or other DIY store and see if they sell nozzles I can just replace them with. They used to sell them, so I assume they still do. I hate clogged nozzles. Just when I'm ready to get busy painting, it stops me in my tracks. Then I get defeated, go back to the computer and log into PlanetSide2....
