As the title suggests I am going to be working on a farseer model in the next couple of days. I would like to model him using a psychic power. Lightning form the hand was my first thought. But I am open to ideas. Has anyone done this? Or have any ideas, I would like to hear them. Thanks!

Three Color Minimum

There are various muzzle flashes/flames you can get from 3rd party conversion sites that when painted up in an alternate color such as blue, green or purple are are great representation of witch/magic/warp flame that you can have spewing from a staff or outstreched hand.
Check out this site for some ideas.
Ive seen thin wire used for psychic lightning before too.

Skaven Warpflame or Vampire Counts ghost ectoplasm make for excellent modelled psychic powers.
I used some skaven warpflame from what I think was the screaming bell kit on this guy, it's super easy to paint with washes as well. If you want something else more lightning-ish, you'll need to look at plastic bits or kits though, with the girly little Eldar hands it'll be difficult to use a lot of the available effects made by many companies as they generally come in resin or metal with the small contact points to attach them.

The mentioned ready-made solutions are great choices. When I modeled some powers on an old Librarian model, I used paper clips stretched out and bent in various ways, painted them yellow/green/blue and they were an awesome, very effective 'lightning'. You could take this a step further by using them as armatures for modeling green stuff effects on to. There are loads of ways. Have fun, friend!

Did anyone make shrink-i-dinks as a kid? My idea for this was to take some plastic wrap, give it a coat, however heavy or light, with whatever color you wanted. Don't worry if it doesn't stick to the plastic. Then you cut into strips, roll it up lengthwise into a cigar like shape, and toss it into the oven like a shrink-i-dink. Keep an eye on it, it will shrivel in the heat and warp, pull it out before it burns but after it's hardened. Glue into whatever configuration you feel like, attach wherever applicable.
