This may sound odd, but it comes from someone who is obsessive compulsive.

I am looking to make some buildings that are condemned. Basically slums, think Detroit or just about anywhere in the rust belt.

Most of the MDF terrain buildings we get are futuristic (for obvious reasons). But I am not looking for something pristine. I want my game table to take place in a near abandon neighbor hood.

Would this be within the style of universe for infinity?

I am not seeing too much in the form of artwork to say yes.

A little google search for Infinity terrain came up with this

I am thinking of something similarusing brick and crumbling stucco

Gathering the Informations.

Sure it could.

There is implied 'slums' within the Yu Jing for the Japanese, within PanOceania for individuals called "ATeks"(more or less people who are unable to afford the constant tech upgrades that an affluent citizen would be able to obtain), or various other examples.

I think the only real exception would be the Nomad ships, as while you might have some more "rundown" sections it's not likely you would have abandoned areas.

On Paradiso the citizens around the world are constantly fighting the plant growth. It's hot, humid, and buildings are constantly be affected by this.

There's always going to be some sort of less kept areas. Nomads, Ariadna, Haqqislam, possibly having the most, but it's not unknown in PanO and Yu Jing cities. There's also still old Earth.

I think the Nomad ships are written as having slums Kan. I included it in my fluff and my OCD made me check absolutely everything. If I'm wrong I must have dreamt it, which is possible.

I included a Corregidor and Bakunin slum, I imagine both to be based on run down metal hab areas.

As for the rest of the sphere, I agree, there would almost definitely be slums. It's not a perfect place although that's the image Aleph brainwash people with(#nomadatheart ).

I think the technology of bricks would be almost defunct by this stage, large engineered concrete blocks maybe but your average house brick is a clumsy approach even now. Poured concrete and prefabs would be the best bet in my opinion.

But brick does look beautiful, when done right. Number of people in my area who can do masonry has dwindled due to the tedious and back breaking work it requires.

At any rate, the brick buildings I will be doing is not so much an entire brick building, but brick exposed from damaged layers of stucco.

Not sure what the fluff in Infinity would have, but currently theie are slums here in upstate new york that have houses a little over 100 years old made of brick but have 3, 4 or 5 layers of Stucco ad just falls apart.

Basically the result of a slum lord hiring a chip chop artist.

Typical of the rust belt to see such blight.

It'll certainly look great and it will be easy to explain away as a less advanced area using cheaper, less technical trades! Also, as CDK said, it could be an area on Earth which would still have loads of older buildings. Go for it and keep us informed on your progress!

Check out the terrain thread and talk to dsteingass, he has an awesome and really easy way of doing what you are talking about. He's done it for Necromunda a lot and it looks amazing, all it requires is a craft knife and foam sheeting.
