I was thinking about running Lone Wolves with jump packs. Does this seem sensible? I know most people go for the predictable tda, ccf and ss but I want to so something different. How would I have to run them to make them competitive?

Thanks!

It's so broken it's not even in the codex. Clearly GW saw your insight and prevented it before you even had a chance.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

True it's not an option, I just wish Thunderwolves were.

Yes you are Stuck with Power Armor or Terminator Armor.

And I'd add that there isn't anything uncompetitive about having a Lone Wolf hoof it in TDA. Just look at some of the 5E and 6E Space Wolves lists that have won tournaments. Several of them brought Lone Wolves to the party and had them walking without issue.

Yes hoofing Lone Wolves were/are still effective.

I run a pair [Power Armor, Storm Shield, CCW and MotW] and have actually lost games because they survived. I have only had one die in turn one and it took Two full Devastator Squads with Las-Cannons and Multi-Meltas to do it.

What a Lone Wolf does for me is act as a Bullet Magnet and a Tar Pit.
Bullet Magnet: If they spend 3 turns attracting 2-3 Squads a turn worth of fire before dyeing then they defiantly made their points back.
Tar Pit: If they slam into the 30 model Boyz Mob and keep it busy for 2-3 Turns, it also has done its job.

Woops, I just assumed they would be.

I'll go for your loadout then Anpu!

EDIT: I should specify, this is for a 1000pt list.

Also, how about a power fist?

If you are taking a Storm Shield you will only get 2 Attacks. With the MotW you get 1d6+1 1d6+2 on an Assault] S4 rending attacks, that should deal with most things until you get to the AV 13/14 range. There is also the fact that you would be going off Last.

Now another one I am working on is Terminator Armor, Chain Fist, Wolf Claw.
