I have lots of spare body bits and a lot of them are either broken or arms/legs whatever that I'm never going to use. I'm looking for any tips or tricks for making them into casualties that doesn't require using up too many legit parts I could be using to make live troopers. Poking bullet-holes in them with the Dremel, adding gore...I can do all that. I want to make some freshly-killed troops or some skeletal troops leftover from a previous battle. Making blown-to-bits guys is super easy, but I want a guy who looks like he got shot in the head and dropped right there prone. Or supine. Doesn't matter.

For example: How to get them to lie flat? How do I get that rag-doll effect?
Is there a best way to bend arms/legs or is it easier to hacksaw the joints and fill in with Greenstuff? I'm open to heating them somehow (but I'm unwilling to purchase a hairdryer or risk the wrath of She Who Must Be Pleased by using hers.) Not fair, really. I mean, she screws up my razors without pity.

Anybody done this?

Ive done a few casualties. usually easiest way for me was making very think cuts (hack saw is ok, small thin bladed hand saw is better) on parts then sanding till they could be joined, test fit and then glue together. so long as you file your meeting points flat it usually isnt that hard to get some good "dead" poses

6000 - Emperors Scepters
8000 - Splinter fleet arzak
9500 - 2nd Company Classic
5000 points UAD/N.Munda 7th/8th/9th

Iv done a incinerated guardsman base for one of my inquisitor.
"hacksaw the joints and fill in with Greenstuff"
pretty much the right way to do it. i suggest pinning with wires to make positioning easier.

you can also file the back of the model a bit smoother to make them laying down. but don't go too much otherwise it will look like they have sunk into the base.
