Having done alot of Cold War for the last 9 months, I've decided a change is as good as a rest. I needed a month off from it to gain some perspective.
So I sold alot of
GW 40k Metal Miniatures and then bought this.
This is a fabulous boxed set, no question. (Grabbed an ARV, because I already have 2 Cromwells, so 2 in this Boxed set will be the 95mm
CS, So I can field a Full Command Platoon)
I've got the new Market Garden Book, and I'm taken with 11th Armoured Division from the history and the Points Costs. So after looking up the background, I realised the that the STUART
VI was actually predominantly converted in the field to the "JALOPY".
Not knowing much about this, and finding only tiny amounts of info, I turned to the one resource we can all depend on....Big P.
After some superb pictures, sent by
PM and some background he's helped me out no end. So here is my modelling Solution which gives me all the options I want for my Stuarts.
Stuart
VI
I grabbed an Okinawa Turret from the M113 Sprue I recently got. Cut it in half, filed it smooth and then dug out a couple of metal 0.50cals and a British Radio Operator. I cut a small piece of Magnetic paper (Like rubberized Steel sheets you get for certain magnetic based miniatures) and glued it underneath the turret so it will attract with the magnet.
Net Result....
Repeat as required, 6 turrets in total and now I have Stuart
VI's and Jalopy options...Cost effective solutions, 1 model - 2 options = Happy.
Thank you to Big P for the help.
