Subject: SM or BA Sternguard?

Ok, so I have BA w/ SM allies, and I was wondering if it would be better to do BA or SM Sternguard. Here are the pros of each that I've thought about: BA: Chance of Red Thirst, Possibility of FNP if I don't do DP SM: Combat Tactics, Ability to add a SM Librarian in their pod Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks, Lucarikx

Combat Tactics is far far better than Red Thirst. Unless you intend to put a Priest with the BA sterns, I'd go for SM every time. That said, I have finally started trying Sternguard with Corbulo in a pod and, it's only been one game so far, but it seems as though I'll really like this set up.

Im going to say C:SM due to combat tactic and Pedro, the ability to score is really the main reason they curve out better than BA, with that being said, i have never played BA sternguard, soon hopefully i will as i am getting into BA for allies but i have played against them and i do feel they are lacking. Hopefully when BA gets their new dex we will see something for their sternguard that vanilla doesnt get

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

Absolutely, having extra combis allows you to continue special fire a good couple of turns in and it's not much extra per model.
...why not take 9 Sternguard and a Priest in a pod? You don't *HAVE* to have a full squad of 10 after all, there's barely any difference unless you need to combat squad them.
