I' ve noticed that the unit profile: Shinning Spears, has the following special rules: Ancient Doom, Battle Focus, Outflank, Skilled Rider.
All is well for most of them except the Battle Focus; How it is supposed to affect a unit that cannot run? Is it intended to work with TurboBoost also or is just a typo?

Thx in advance

It is there in case a non-jetbike model joins the unit. Otherwise, if an Autarch with Wings joined, he would lose the benefit of the rule.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Hmm, the problem with your explanation is that when a unit that consists of different unit types, elects to run in its shooting phase, it runs as a "whole" even if some models in the unit didn't run (pg. 14 BRB). In that case a unit containing Jetbikes and Independent Infantry character cannot elect to run, because even if only the character run it would mean that the whole unit run, which is prohibited per their unit type.

Then the rule does nothing, and can be ignored.

Either way you end up with the same result.

The whole unit doesn't need to be able to run. If an autarch or even a farseer join the squad (on foot) they can use the ability of battle focus. The farseer and autarch can run, even use fleet to reroll the distance. The rest of the models can't move. The restriction, however, is that the autarch and farseer have to stay in unit coherency with there group.

Actually the way the Run rule is written is it states the whole unit must Run - to prevent you from keeping some models still to shoot with, for example - and bike units cannot Run.

Battle Focus is most likely there for completeness, it does no harm in remaining.

On the off chance that some future ability changes Unit Types, then Battle Focus can still be used. I can almost see some kind of psychic power coming along that changes an enemy unit type to Infantry...
