Ambitious Space Wolves Initiate

I'm sorry, I know this has been done to death, but I feel that, opponent consenting, the imperial armour books give a few options for space wolves flyers (thunderhawk etc)
Has anyone actually tried this and how did it go?

Thunderhawks are way too big and expensive for non-apoc games, and as they're superheavies they're apoc only anyway. But I see no reason to object to Spacewolf Nephilim, Land Speeder Tempest, Stormtalon, or Stormraven units.

Thunderhawk no, a bit Over the Top. Stormraven, however, is just fine.

Nah, it will be called a Stormwolf, flown by a Wolf Pilot who uses his Wolf senses to defeat the enemy in Wolf Fights.

With his Wolfguns that fire Wolf rounds that are S7 AP4 Type: Heavy 3, Wolf, which means that the weapon shoots cyberwolves.

Haven't used a Thunderhawk, but I do have a Storm Eagle that I use to insert Blood Claws. Worked pretty well, ended the game with a hull point left. Blood Claws assaulted from the SE and killed a squad of Fire Warriors, then ran into a Riptide, who proceeded to kill all the Claws except the one with a power fist! He avenged his pack and killed the Riptide in epic fashion.
I'm always a little bemused by the comments about Russ preferring that the Wolves fight on the ground, shouldn't fly, etc. That was never the case, and there are plenty of ace Wolf pilots in the Black Library books and the fluff. I think people are confusing the Wolves' dislike of teleporting for a dislike of flying. It would be kinda difficult to execute the Emperor's will if they couldn't get off-planet.

And transports a wolf lord on a thunderwolf with the saga of the wolfkin and double wolf claws, a wolftooth necklace and a wolf ail talisman. He leads a squad of thunderwolf cavalry and they charge out of the Wolftalon.
Also the Wolftalon would be decorated by wolf heraldry.
Wolf.
