Great trailer

MC on a greater ark in search of a Cortana fragment? Giant promethean robots? 60fps and dedicated servers for multiplayer (confirmed), YES!

RULE OF COOL, this is a 40k forum, you understand!

The reveal for me, was amazing, because of the goofy cloak. It took me totally by surprise while I was watching.

Pretty sure "Surprise!" was the point of the cloak Also possibly the Chief is now on his own? He's still wearing his decrepit Mjolnir mark whatever armor and the visor is cracked.

That sure is what it looks like, it looks like its really beat up at this point. That giant visor crack is crazy.

Hoping for more exploration of some crazy giant world like CE felt. Halo 4 had a bit of that exploration feel, but the environments weren't really big enough, and it didn't last long enough. As in, it was basically only at the beginning of the 2nd mission.

Hopefully the new hardware will make larger and more expansive environments possible.

Hardware isn't the issue. The issue is budget/time. If Bethesda can create Skyrim, Microsoft can throw together a less linear FPS. There was nothing technically impossible about it ten years ago. It's just not generally done cause it's not what the FPS demographic looks for and fancy graphics do suck up the budget rather quickly

So this is what the franchise development director said about the trailer:

"He is deliberately masking his appearance. And that is all you're getting."

Best game reveal ever made hands down, totally unexpected.

My theory for the robe is he is trying not to be seen, perhaps hes been made an outcast from the events in halo 4 so its my guess why he is covering himself.

So, from this image :

Chief might actually be on the Greater Ark that has been teased in the books.

Looks alot like the planet in the middle of the smaller ark destroyed in H3:

It really, really, wasn't. (Oh and btw a pre-rendered trailer can be good, see Starcraft HOTS and Elder scrolls online for examples, this just wasnt.)

Microsoft had to try a bit harder than some pre-rendered, laughably pretentious, groan inducingly predictable trailer.

Yea well, that's just your opinion man.

Also, totally another ark: http://s12.photobucket.com/user/ChargerSRT8/media/Halo/Ark_Comparisons_zpse2e3230c.jpg.html

Were people actually surprised who was under the robe? I mean who else would it be?

Also, yeah trailer could have been better. When I think good trailer I think brink, or warhammer mark of chaos, or dead island.

Some person in a robe walking forward only to have his obvious identity revealed as this robot appears before him does not a good trailer make. Halo 3 had a much cooler trailer.

Would be nice if they'd have just left him and gone to expanding the universe out a bit more, but with 4 already made and now this it's a bit late.

As a card carrying Halo fanboy, 343 can barely do no wrong.. sad I know. I loved it.

2014 is the only surprise, I would have thought Microsoft would have wanted that as a launch title to pull uncertain fans one way or the other.

This will be the reason I get a xboxone, the only question now is will I already own one, or will I be getting one when this game launches.

For that a console Launch line up would be good??

The only thing surprising was that it was a Halo game. I still think that Halo's trailers peaked with Halo 2 and that 12 minute "gameplay" demonstration that was never in the game. That was an amazing hype-builder. I did love the diorama commercial for Halo 3 though, that was really effective and really cool.

That said, this tells me nothing about the game aside from "Yep, Master Chief's in it, there's big things in it, it's somewhere sandy" and I can't force myself to get excited for it.

Er mah gawd I remember the halo 2 trailer. Melee combos, crazy sync animations of getting snatched out of the warthog, all sorts of awesomeness that didn't make it into the game. I was really disappointing that they killed the combos.

If it tells you nothing, then you obviously don't pay enough attention to all the hints being dropped, and how it ties into the fiction of the universe.

As excited as I am for another Halo...I doubt I'll ever play it if it's only released on the Xbone :/

I'm really struggling to like the Xbone, this awful trailer has done nothing to sway my opinion.

I'm not going to go into my standard rant, but...

"Teasers" do not equate to "Trailers".
This is a teaser, not a trailer.
