Subject: Super Smash Bros 3DS/WiiU. 3(!) confirmed new characters

What do you mean? Brawl did very well, and was plenty of fun. And the campaign mode the put into the game was a good addition to the series. I will admit, I think I still preferred Melee...but only by a slim margin.
The SSE was boring as hell, with more than half of the story mode taking place in a rehash level.
The gameplay itself was incredibly boring and stale. With no hitstun or effective punishment options (except for Metaknight, who broke the damn game) the game ended up becoming a prolonged game of tag more than anything. It's slow, it's campy, and it's boring.

I'll agree, the combat isn't as good, and it's not as competitive...but get four friends together and it's still a good time. Especially when booze is involved.
Oh, I'm no stranger to mixing drinking with Smash Brothers. But it doesn't change the fact that Brawl is boring as hell. Hell, there was one Brawl Tournament that I went to where several friends and I were drunk off our asses, and it still was nothing particularly entertaining.
The best part about drinking with Melee/Project M (I'm assuming you're drinking every time you lose a stock) is that you die a lot faster.
Also, I want my old main to come back in this one. Pichu solidarity!

I think the Wii Fitness Trainer being in is hilarious, and I entirely approve. So much room for trolling other players and taunting.
The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Megaman is AWESOME. Original sounds and that blank face while shooting people...yes!
I also laughed a lot at the Wii Fitness Trainer...her moves look pretty well-animated and are so much different from other moves. Furthermore, her voice is...frightening. Imagine that monotone, disembodied voice saying "I will kill you". Brrrr.
...and...Smash Brothers on the 3DS? feth yeah. I just hope we get Metaknight again...please?
I hope not. And not just because he was insanely OP in Brawl.
Considering that the game has so many characters already, adding more would just be a pain in the ass to balance. I'd get rid of a few to make room for the new generation of characters. Metaknight would be on that list, largely because the Kirby series is overrepresented to begin with.
As for other characters I'd cut:
ZSS
Ness
Lucario (replace with Mewtwo or upcoming generation's flagship)
ROB
Snake (replace with Simon Belmont to fit the them of NES greats with Megaman)
Sonic
Essentially, trim the fat so that new characters can be added without being an overwhelming ordeal to actually develop them.

I think they should get rid of the characters that shares a gameplay. Fox, Falco and Wolf are basically the same character. Marth and Ike. Ness and Lucas.

Foxxy Woxxy and Falco are quite different. In Melee, Brawl, and Project M, their gameplay has always been considerabily different.
The only things Marth and Ike have in common is that they use a sword. Ike also happens to be one of the most popular characters in the Fire Emblem series.
