Hello!
I have lurked on the site for a while, but it looks like I will have more
40k time in the near future, so I thought I would join! At the moment, I am back at my parents' place in California for about a month before my new job starts in
DC, so I am getting rid of old stuff and thinking about new stuff. I started Space Marines in 3rd ed. back in high school, started Imperial Guard in 4th ed. in college, and picked up some Grey Knights when the new codex came out.
This is what
40k stuff I have going on:
1 - I am selling my old Space Marines! Some of them are painted pretty well as Salamanders, some are primed or unpainted, while some of them have a hideous lime green scheme that I came up with when I was in high school, which thankfully is easy to cover up or strip off. I have about 5,500 points worth of dudes, and I plan to discount them a bit since some of them have a "fixer-upper" paint job. If you are trying to get into Space Marines in a big way, don't want to spend too much and don't mind a little refurbishment effort then check it out! I will also be selling my rare and out-of-print models separately in case you are interested (Salamanders Chaplain Xavier; 2005 Games Day Space Marine Veteran; 2 2008 Games Day Space Marine Sergeants; and a
FW Siege Dreadnought). I will get them priced and on ebay within the next day or two, and I will put up a description and link in the Trade forum when I do. If you are interested I will reply to let you know when they are up.
2 - I am getting into Tyranids! I like to try builds that are unexpected and fun though not necessarily the best, and tend to do alright since most people don't anticipate what I put into my lists when I tell them what army I will be playing. I am thinking about an army centered around the Parasite of Mortrex and a unit of Sky-Slashers, supported by a mob of Hormagaunts and some heavier units and support choices I am still contemplating. I will be looking for unit advice and painting advice!
3 - Still going strong on my Guard and Grey Knights! My Guard are a dark blue/khaki scheme to give them a naval feel, and are pretty balanced between armor, mech and infantry. My Grey Knights are themed as a "rapid response" force, so all units are true Grey Knights, and must either be able to deep-strike or travel by Stormraven. If you have advice or questions let me know.
See you around the forum!
